I wanted BlueSky to succeed. Was literally planning AtProto integration in Pixelfed and Loops.

But VC funding, supporting/verifying ICE, centralized control? That's not decentralization.

They became what they promised to replace. Count me out.

Yep. . .When I sent a friend the ICE info, she immediately deleted her account. Maybe more will & there may be new Fedi folk.

I so agree on this. I've even bought the bsky.es domain to setup a Bluesky instance... till I understood that everything is moderated by the Bsky team in a centralized way.

I was even offered a lot of money for the domain using crypto that I refused.

I hope Fediverse stays healthy forever, even if it's smaller.

from my perspective, the entire point of Bluesky was to be a pseudo-fediverse, to prevent people from joining the real one
