Remember: when an authoritarian and his coterie attempt to consolidate their grip on a country, every action deserves reproach. This extends to the actions of sycophants and enablers. This morning the Washington Post published a screed from Kristi Noem, which I will not link to. You can find it archived on the web. In it she, lies about Harvard; about foreign students studying there; pushes Trump’s xenophobic, anti-knowledge agenda. 1/

The Post is now platforming Republican Fascism. Unsurprising. Utterly contemptible. 2/

As I wrote over the weekend, the only lasting recourse against the Republican Fascist dictatorship is going to come from a long fight led and powered by grassroots action. heidi-says.ghost.io/the-dictat… 3/

But the “grassroots” are MAGA maniacs, duped, dumb, and too deluded to realize how they are being used and abused. No road back!

That sort of long term collective action takes patience. It requires of us to act, each day if we can, taking affirmative steps to push for change even though we cannot know precisely how our own small actions will add up. Long term collective action is, by its nature, unpredictable. 4/

Don’t let that unpredictability stop you. Jeff Bezos can control what his paper prints. He doesn’t control you. Kristi Noem can harm a lot of people, but odds are that if you are seeing this, she isn’t imperiling you personally right now. Use your freedom. 5/

Stop buying from Amazon. There are alternatives. When you find ones you like, tell your friends and families about them.

Go to protest rallies and events in your area. Join local groups acting against fascism. An excellent way to find one near you is at indivisible.org/groups. 6/

The further Trump and his fellow Republican Fascists try to sink their tentacles into America, the more imperative it is for each and every one of us to join the pro-democracy opposition. 7/7

It baffles me why anyone would even read the Washington Post after what Bezos has done to the organization to thumb it in his way (pro business, anti-union, and anti journalist by way of blocking the opinion writers from expressing their opinion that Harris was their recommendation for President.)

People should cancel their subscriptions and encourage those good journalists to leave. Then readers should support them on whatever new avenue they take.

@JamisonAlexander I also encourage people to not click through to "gift" articles posted to Wapo or NYT. Just say no. Other, less problematic news outlets will have the same information.
in reply to Axomamma

@Axomamma @JamisonAlexander Or check web archives for versions you can read without giving problematic publications clicks.

Fascism is rampant in the U.S.A. - Wise ones are taking advantage of programs like New Zealand’s Golden Visas. There is no turning back I am afraid.
