Remember when they claimed that they killed 9000 hamas militant in 3 months?

Note that this means "83% of people killed were civilians", not that 83% of civilians were killed. As the graph in the article illustrates, that puts this neck and neck with other recent genocides:

And that’s if we believe the Israelis aren’t lying to cover their genocide.
in reply to cygnus

Notably, Hamas on Oct 7 killed two civilians for every military casualty. By the IDF's own numbers, the IDF are literally greater terrorists than Hamas. Hamas literally does a better job at avoiding civilian casualties than the IDF does.
in reply to WoodScientist

If you qualify military targets the way the IDF does then Hamas killed over 90% military targets on october 7.

And we'll likely never know how many civilians/soldiers were killed by Israel issuing the Hannibal Directive on October 7th. Something we do know they issued that day.

Yes. Israel has a protocol that says "killing/harming our own people is preferred to them being kidnapped".

Yes, that's the result of Russia "liberating" a city. I'm surprised Grozny doesn't show up here - enough civilians got away, I guess. The city itself was completely obliterated.
in reply to cygnus

In any case, it is civs/total deads.. and maybe Grozny didn't got enough press.

Since Mariupol i have welded in my mind the russian word for children. Freaking animals.

in reply to Siegfried

Yup. This is why I had to ban someone posting Russian propaganda from a Pro-Russia Mariupol Youtube channel.

"Look how much better things are with Russia instead of Ukraine!" bullshit.

neweasterneurope.eu/2024/07/15…

in reply to jordanlund

you should ban zionists who deny the genocide that killed 85% of civilians too
in reply to mrdown

I absolutely do, but that doesn't come up as often. Most often it's the anti-zionists advocating murder, death, and destruction.
in reply to jordanlund

I have reported guys talking about how palestinians voted for hamas or denying occupation
in reply to mrdown

Unfortunately, Palestinians DID vote for Hamas. That on it's own is not removable.

It ignores the larger context of WHY they voted for Hamas, a decade of Israeli abuses going back to the 90s and treating the previous elected party (PLO) as terrorists and not a legitimate government, but it doesn't change the fact that Hamas were elected.

in reply to mrdown

That's why I say "on it's own" not removable. I'd need to see the comment in question to say more.
in reply to cygnus

that puts this neck and neck with other recent genocides

The fact that this sentence can be said, unironically, and backed with data, is kinda depressing.

in reply to mrdown

Sure is a good thing we didn't put those gEnOcIdAl Democrats in office, huh?
in reply to Nougat

Have some respect for palestinians getting genocidal instead of defending the two cultist parties. Condemn israel instead and keep boycotting it

in reply to mrdown

Like Nougat, I have enough respect and logic to be able to distinguish the Greater from the Lesser Poison for Palestinians in what was a binary choice.

More frankly: Anyone who espoused couch-sitting and MUh boTH sIdEz false equivalence fallacies are complicit in Israel's genocide because any rational person could see Israel would be more constrained by Democrats, while Bibi and AIPAC obviously preferred Trump and Republicans winning.

Also, this isn't to mention they're complicit in worsening Russia's attempted genocide in Ukraine.

Edit: Very stable folks replying, lol.

While you guys cry about your cult losing to the other cult . Other people keep fighting ,protesting, boycotting etc. You guys have zero respect you are just cultists

Rational people know that the billions of dollars that Israel get from the USA is that enabling the genocide. Only fools would believe that democrats would have stopped it. Only fools would think that dems and republicans would have constrained israel.

Netanyahu is a snake he thanked both Trump and Biden when it suited him. Netanyahu supported trump vocally more because it would create an illusion of change

in reply to mrdown

lol none of this changes what I already wrote whatsoever. I can rest my case here if nothing substantive to add. Blood on your hands as you dream of this magical fairy-tale land of a 3rd viable option.

Blood on the hand of democrats and republicans who vote for aipac candidates that send billions to israel, financing their genocide while the USA keep getting worse. If all third party voters voted for Harris she would still lost.
in reply to mrdown

There's no fucking cult here, dude. It's called logic and rationality.
in reply to prole

Logic say if you vote for parties that gives billions to israel you are complicit. Nobody give a famn about your excuses. Keep crying about trump instead of fighting him
in reply to prole

Odds are high this is being brigaded by tankies or far-right astroturfers. They truly do Bibi proud by enabling his favorite pick in the White House while trying to sow defeatism and apathy while giving no constructive pragmatic alternative solution.

Edit: Case-in-point. This person is programmed to wedge-drive Democrats while ignoring the elephant in the room, the bigger fish — the PRIMARY choice of Netanyahu. Objective bystanders take note the obvious fact that genocide is no simply boolean but a gradient, and MORE people not LESS will die under Trump. Instead, they were wasting time promoting mUh BoTh SiDeS False Equivalence logical fallacies, lapping up the Russian and AIPAC kool-aid and playing right into their hands. Bibi and Trump thank you for your service.

Defeatism is people like you who still cry about Harris losing instead of fighting him and keep promoting protests and BDS. You didn't have even enough self respect to call out Israel atrocities and mourning the dead Palestinians
in reply to Nougat

This genocide would also be happening if Harris was president, nothing has changed.

The only difference would be that every Democrat would be supporting the genocide in lock step, rather than what's happening now with Democrats finally speaking out.

Trump brings out the best in Democrats.

in reply to 5in1k

Were you alive when Biden was president and he was the one working hand in glove with Israel to conduct the genocide?

We're watching the same Democrats that supported the genocide under Biden suddenly pivot under Trump.

in reply to Nougat

What part of Harris' platform leads you to believe she would have done anything different? Because her entire platform was keeping things the same and advocating for Israel's "right to defend itself". She was just as genocidal as the next candidate.
in reply to rockSlayer

Trump entered office under a Biden negotiated ceasefire. Trump then told Netenyahu to go ahead and ignore the ceasefire.
in reply to chaogomu

How does that negate anything I said? A less genocidal candidate is still a genocidal candidate. There is no "lesser evil" to genocide, only depths of depravity
in reply to chaogomu

The cease fire was always an illusion, israel is determined to do it's final solution and they are no reason to stop because the usa regardless of who is the president gives billions to iarael and provide diplomatic protection
in reply to rockSlayer

Absolute fucking madness. Not even worth engaging at this point. Yeah dude Kamala would be talking about building luxury hotels on the rubble of Gaza.

Unless you're a literal child, and 2024 was not only your first election, but the first time you've paid attention to any of it, then you've got no excuse (beyond attempting to absolve yourself from the guilt you feel deep down).

Questa voce è stata modificata (2 settimane fa)
in reply to prole

Here's the crux of the difference of opinion: No, Pres. Harris would not have been talking about luxury hotels on the rubble of Gaza. Israel, however, has been talking about it for years. The U.S. President has very little influence over Israeli intentions, and whether the U.S. President talks about it sounds like an objection based on style rather than substance.

isreal wants the palestinian civillians to leave the area.

does that happen if isreal is very careful and avoids harming civillians and its pretty safe for civillians even if they stay?

or if the civillians know they risk being horrifically and indiscriminately massacred if they stay?

they get international hate for their actions; they also get what they want.

in reply to mrdown

Every single major news publisher trying their hardest to call this a war and not a genocide.
in reply to Snowies

It's not censorship. It's some brat who thinks virtue signaling is more important the saving the lbgtq community, Ukrainians or any brown person in their own fucking country. They are no better then the Israeli in my opinion
in reply to mrdown

These people are such a murderous bunch of worthless jackasses that I lost faith in humanity. I mean they let a lot of Nazi and Imperial Japanese criminals live because they were 'valuable' and were needed to run the bureaucracy... zionist shitheads have no use. They higher level ones need to be executed and all the lower level ones imprisoned and forced to work to rebuild what they destroyed for the rest of their damned lives.
in reply to mrdown

oh dear, it seems like just a few commenters made a mess of this thread. my question is: which ones were real people, and which ones were just bots?
in reply to paisleepunk

It's one real person using scripts to create accounts and flood the channel.

We ban them as soon as the accounts are created but sometimes the comments still federate.

We're on it. If you see them, block them, and that will clean up the comment thread.

in reply to jordanlund

What a weird fucking hobby to have. Hope this person gets the help they clearly need.
in reply to Nosavingthrow

Yeah, it's actually quite sad and they've been doing it for like a year now? Something like that.
in reply to mrdown

There is no political solution and now many Americans are looking towards radical solutions that offer at least a stable income
in reply to rozodru

We're actually doing OK. Fortunately the tools to ban users and remove their bullshit is like, 2 clicks, total.

That being said, they've created a bunch of accounts with 8,000+ posts soooo... like 12 clicks? LOL.
