Apparently Microsoft don’t understand how the Fediverse works, and want me to delete the parody account @microsoft 🤣🫡

They wrote #socialMediaAccount and #socialMediaPage.

They will go for expecting you to block that account for your instance. And they will go for flooding the space with #AI lawyers creating #FUD for all those who can't or wont dedicate themselves and their time to that kind of sh**.

btw
We have brands.town/ an entire instances dedicated to #brandParody, it was immediately blocked by lot's of mastodon instances ..

@stux
mstdn almost sounds like Microsoft territory already

I think I'll have to create a super satanic one at hellions but I doubt they will come after me for that :invertedpentagram:

in reply to Kevin Beaumont

...did they just email the admin of an entirely different instance?
in reply to Kevin Beaumont

they never understood an internet they couldn't control.

Long live the #fediverse
Fuck microshit to hell.

tracer appears to be an AI auto-dmca utility I guess. "harnessing ai to defend brands" kinda crap.
in reply to Quincy

(don't #microsoft realize how much everyone hates them anyway? and no amount of bullying is going to change that - quite on the contrary 🤣)

@quincy @inderix
everyone know we just dont like bullies because they don’t bully us enough 😂

Wow, aiming at completely the wrong user and instance and...

It's like when @evan made the joke "I FOUND A BUG IN THE PERL!!!!" post and rambled for several pages about how SERIOUS this was for the Perl Programming Community. If you read to the end, the bug listed was "500 Server Error".

AI causes another embarrassing social media cycle at Microsoft in 3..2..
in reply to Kevin Beaumont

If anybody is wondering, Tracer.ai is legit and operating at the instruction of Microsoft.

They’re an AI brand protection service which has been systematically harming Microsoft’s brand for a while. An example - getting YouTube videos about Minecraft removed, which has hindered Minecraft’s visibility online (which is a huge part of Xbox revenue). reddit.com/r/PhoenixSC/comment…

If anybody else thinks it's a phishing email btw.. it isn't.

They also don't appear to know I'm not CEO of the fediverse and can't just delete an account on another server.

Also, obviously, a parody account is fair use in the US and protected speech so they shouldn't be trying to take them offline, too. It's basically a brand reputation service for Microsoft that damages brand reputation by not understanding brand reputation.

I didn’t know about @microsoft before and now I’m enjoying reading their prior toots and trying to decide which one pissed off an MS exec and caused the brand protection squad to arrive.

If anybody is wondering, I never got a reply from Microsoft’s brand reputation service after replying to their takedown request with this thread URL.

TIL brand protection artificial intelligence is a real thing 🙄

I am a bit upset because my plan was to live my whole life without ever touching a weapon. But *someone* will have to shoot at these machines before it’s too late.
