(re) Started my Linux journey today. Last time I used Linux was around 2005.

It has come... a very long way in 20 years lol.

I can't believe how smoothly everything is running. So fast. Everything works. My bluetooth mouse, my Xbox controller, my webcam, my bluetooth headphones.

No enshittification, no copilot, no ads. Just feels like a pure "this is my computer" experience so far.

I bought a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad for this, and have already deleted Windows 11.

Don't get too used to the bluetooth stuff just working smoothly. After all, it's still bluetooth.

It worked fine for my Sony buds until firmware update. Then it downgraded quality to "unlistenable". Still works for other things.

if it's any consolation, with my Lenovo Thinpad I've had more hardware issue than Linux-related issues.

Just a friendly reminder you can get back the money of the #Windows license that came with your computer, if you didn't activate it.
I did it with an Asus laptop about 12 years ago and they gave me about 100€. I used them to upgrade the RAM.
I had to send the windows sticker via registered mail and after two weeks they placed the money in my bank account (but nowadays the whole process is probably digital).
After 10 years that laptop was no more up to the task, so I bought a new one, but this time I found there are laptops sold without windows. I bought a #Slimbook because they are powerful and not pricey, but there are as well #Tuxedo, #Framework and some others... and you don't waste the time for the license reimboursement procedure.
