I'm trying not to use Google Docs.
But I need a sign up sheet where people can list themselves as volunteers for recurring events.
Ideally, this would live on a wordpress site and have a layout that is not worse than a shared Google sheet.
I'd also prefer not to pay £40 for the privilege of running this.
Suggestions?

Drupal founder @dries chimed in on the WordPress debacle with a post recommending some of what's been on my mind - more formal expectations around contributing back to the project.

The WordPress drama really highlights the need to move away from an opaque dictatorship governance model.
When the dictators stop being benevolent shit gets real messy.
Also, with a transparent, formal (and ideally democratic!) governance model it's easier for disputes to get resolved responsibly.
Are there folks in the WordPress community organizing around this? I'd be interested in supporting it.
