This classic from the second iteration of the ever changing style of Kevin Rowland's band is a mash up of Irish folk songs & post punk sensibility. With its well known sing-along chorus & driving violin led arrangement, it sounds like nothing else & is a testament to Rowland's (offer under-estimated) musical genius. Die Folge: ein Wetter- und Temperatursturz, was die Schneefallgrenze teils bis auf die tieferen mittleren Lagen absinken lässt. Entlang der Alpen sind teils unwetterartige Neuschneemengen möglich. Explanation: The defining astronomical moment of the equinox today is at 14:46 UTC (March 20). That's when the Sun crosses the celestial equator moving north in its yearly journey through planet Earth's sky, marking the beginning of spring for our fair planet in the northern hemisphere and fall in the southern hemisphere. Then, day and night are nearly equal around the globe. In fact, both day and nighttime exposures from a spring equinox at the Observatorio del Teide in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, are used in this composited skyscape. Over 1,000 images were taken with a fisheye lens and merged in the ambitious equinox project. The apparent motion of the Sun setting along the celestial equator on the equinox date follows the bright linear, diagonal track from the sequence of daytime exposures taken over 6 hours. After sunset, nighttime exposures recorded startrails, with the celestial equator as a linear track and concentric arcs circling the north celestial pole near Polaris at upper right and the south celestial pole beyond the lower left edge (and below the Teide horizon). The foreground includes the distant Teide volcano peak and the observatory's pyramid-shaped solar laboratory building.

We are concerned community members from the Oregon area, asking for calls to Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI). The prison has:
• Thrown Malik Muhammad, a political prisoner from the 2020 uprising in solitary confinement.
• It’s been days since they should have been released back to general population.
• Restricted Malik’s communication access
• Including access to their lawyer
• Mail has slowed drastically
This comes after Malik was in solitary confinement at Snake River Correctional for over year, before suddenly transferring them to EOCI.
Demands:
• Release Malik back to Gen Pop immediately
• Fully Restore Malik’s access to communication
• Release all withheld mail

At home I have a Brother KH940 knitting machine. It is a relic of an age when people bought tools to bring them more power and capabilities, and were extensions of our creativity. Now, you buy a T-shirt in a store, made for cheap somewhere, and don't know much about the materials and construction without careful study. It has been outcompeted.
An acquaintance heard me pondering and summarized an AI risk I articulated as AI being an "antimeme". The things that people can do in programming that AI in a loop can't are all centered around design experience, and engineering judgment — things which are hardest to get when the AI is doing so much of the job for you.
How do we make tools that help make us smarter, instead of encouraging us to zone out? In part it must be a design problem, surely; what are the humanist patterns of UX and information flow? Are they as doomed as the home knitting machine? I must hope not.
