Heavy Weather è il settimo album dei Weather Report, pubblicato nel 1977 dalla Columbia Records. L'album vendette circa 500.000 copie e si sarebbe rivelato l'album di maggior successo commerciale della band. Heavy Weather ricevette una recensione a 5 stelle dalla rivista DownBeat e fu votato album jazz dell'anno dai lettori della rivista. Con lo standard jazz “Birdland”, l'album è uno dei più venduti del catalogo jazz della Columbia. Il brano di apertura fu un notevole successo commerciale, cosa non tipica della musica strumentale. La melodia era stata eseguita dal vivo dalla band come parte di “Dr. Honoris Causa”, tratto dall'omonimo album solista di Joe Zawinul. Sebbene non sia menzionato come registrazione dal vivo nelle note di copertina, “Rumba Mamá” (con percussioni e voce di Manolo Badrena e Alex Acuña) fu registrato durante un concerto della band a Montreux, in Svizzera, durante l'estate del 1976, e da questo brano sarebbe stato tratto un film in DVD nel 2007.

I used a pretty small aperture because I had the setting sun on 10 o’clock.

Volt Typhoon has been responsible for intrusions into vital critical infrastructure both in the continental United States and its possessions through the Pacific.

The group has made transport hubs and water utilities a particular target, with the hackers so far not causing any disruption but rather prepositioning themselves ahead of any hostile action.

The admission of Chinese responsibility came during a secret meeting between outgoing Biden administration officials and Chinese representatives on the sidelines of a summit in Geneva in December 2024. According to two anonymous observers, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported late last week that the Chinese attendants referred indirectly to the activity as being a warning for the US to stay away from any attempts to support or defend Taiwan.

According to the WSJ, the comments were “indirect and somewhat ambiguous”; however, US officials present felt the meaning was plain.

Speaking to Cyber Daily’s sister brand, Defence Connect, earlier this year, Adam Meyers, SVP of counter-adversary operations at CrowdStrike, said that Volt Typhoon’s activity was clearly aimed at disrupting any US action in the region.

Japan's Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has said he will not make "big concessions" to Donald Trump in order to get a trade deal wrapped up ahead of talks due to start on April 17 in Washington, but also said on Monday that he would not be imposing retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports.

Ishiba told parliament that Japan needs to understand Trump's views on tariffs and trade "in terms of the logic and the emotional elements" behind them, Reuters reported.

Nel corso di reti all’università è stata menzionata la trasformata di #Fourier… per fortuna solo menzionata, perché giustamente il corso da noi si fa pur sempre solo dal punto di vista informatico, non ingegneristico… e boh, ricordo che ho dormito per tutto il misero minuto per cui la diapositiva a riguardo è rimasta a schermo. Non voglio assolutamente avere a che fare con queste formule complicate strane, altrimenti sarei andata ad ingegneria informatica come altri miei amici…

…Però, devo dire che guardando l’argomento con l’animazione bellina, la formula messa effettivamente in un contesto dimostrativo ben illustrato, e quindi insomma questo tipo di vibe qui, il mio rifiuto si fa meno forte. Personalmente a guardare questa clip comunque non ho reagito come invece si vede #xQc fare qui; grande streamer lui, che non immaginavo avesse sviluppato questa particolare passione per la #matematica… anche se lui è talmente sbigottito alla vista della trasformata di Fourier che addirittura non ci ha potuto nemmeno credere.
