What explains the depressing job market — most starkly illustrated in a viral chart on X, based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showing the number of position openings cratering since ChatGPT was released? And what about early career jobs, which seem scarce these days, to the chagrin of recent graduates?Some think that the softening in the job market should instead be attributed to the US Federal Reserve putting a kibosh to the era of zero interest-rate policy in 2022. Before it ended, companies borrowed massive amounts of capital at cheap rates and plowed them into high-risk startups — thereby inflating assets, making lots of millionaires, and fueling a gold rush of well-paying tech positions. (Squint at that chart in the previous paragraph and it does seem to support this thesis, with the decline in openings coinciding more cleanly with the interest rate hike than the release of ChatGPT.)
As for early career positions decreasing, some experts think the phenomenon predates ChatGPT and could be a sign that there are simply more college graduates than there are early career jobs where a higher degree is a must, along with other structural changes.
And there are the headlines, which are littered with stories of people getting laid off due to AI — but maybe that’s a function of some CEOs jumping the gun and buying into the hype even though AI still leaves much to be desired in practice. That’s reflected in the uneven adoption of AI across industrial sectors.

TikTok ormai da tempo non è più l’app dei balletti, come veniva definita ai suoi esordi: è diventato la piattaforma che, giorno dopo giorno, scrive sempre di più la dieta informativa di un’intera generazione (e oltre).
Un po’ di numeri per far capire bene di cosa stiamo parlando: negli Stati Uniti lo usano 170 milioni di persone, ossia quasi metà della popolazione. Per il 44% dei ragazzi sotto i trent’anni è la fonte principale di notizie. Nel 2023 da solo ha contribuito con 24 miliardi di dollari al PIL americano e dato lavoro a oltre 224.000 persone.

- Coded Marking – debutto impeccabile, forse fin troppo. Un album che avrebbe potuto gridare, ma sceglie di sussurrare.
- Giant Claw – libertà totale e ironia sonora: un patchwork che funziona come poche volte capita.
- Sea Mosquito – spiritualità oscura e critica alla modernità: psichedelia e black metal intrecciati in un lavoro imponente, anche se non perfetto.
- Siavash Amini – Caligo: la polvere dei bombardamenti a Teheran trasformata in un suono che fa male.
- Xeeland – Master Builder: drone e krautrock per costruire cattedrali di cemento sonoro, fredde e opprimenti.

Le canzonine - Teatro-canzone per l'infanzia 5 ottobre 2025
Se avete figli consiglio caldamente l'evento che ci sarà questa domenica alla Santeria Toscana in Viale Toscana 31.
Suonerà, tra gli altri, il mitico Enrico Gabrielli (Calibro 35, tra le altre miriadi di cose che fa) che ha dato vita qualche anno fa a un bellissimo progetto chiamato Le canzonine.
Non sigle di cartoni, non dispositivi per farli ballare e giocare, canzoni per farli innamorare, meravigliare, ragionare. Nel suo piccolo, dice, ha fatto un disco chiamando a raccolta un po' di amici musicisti (Bianconi, Brunori, Dimartino, Cosmo, Giovanni Truppi e altri) che condividono la stessa domanda, e a cui hanno provato a dare una risposta.
