I see where they're coming from but seems a bit weird to embark your customers so they back your very specific demand to your employer.
I mean, sure, unionize, fight to make your job better or at least prevent it from getting shittier. But what kind of weight do people who use Kickstarter have in company policy? The only power they have is just to stop using it, and the employees obviously don't want that. They even had to mention "pretty please don't boycott Kickstarter" right here in the end.

“Google says it has calculated the energy required for its Gemini AI service: Sending a single text prompt consumes as much energy as watching television for nine seconds.”
That's pretty staggering when you consider that it's no longer possible to do a Google search without generating an AI summary. Google processes something like 8 billion searches per day, so if each one of those triggers a prompt equivalent to watching 9 seconds of television, every day the total power cost is equivalent to about 2200 years of TV watching. Per day. And that's just search, for just one tech company.

da ilpost.it/2025/08/21/leoncaval…

I like Tiktok for funny and helpful videos, but I deleted it because I realized the algorithm was controlling too much of what I was seeing. I realized it was starting to shape my opinions and split.
Their algorithm is a drug and spreads propaganda just like Facebook. Stay far away.
I recently became active again on LinkedIn because gestures generally at all of the layoffs and even they have short form videos.
Who asked for that?!
grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/…
Traduzione in italiano:

da milanotoday.it/politica/raccol…

I would lose the checks before I cashed them probably, but if you have a lot of free time and are organized you can make a little money.

in reply to SynonymousStoat • • •Very true, the websites are usually pretty good about detailing what level of information is needed.
The no proof ones are usually like 5-$25, but if adds up. I just point it out because most people don't realize that there is always a couple class actions that they can add their name to for payouts.
