Israel's Supreme Court says Palestinian prisoners are not being fed enough
Israel's Supreme Court on Sunday ruled that the government has failed to provide Palestinian security prisoners with adequate food for basic subsistence and ordered authorities to improve their nutrition.
The decision was a rare case in which the country's highest court ruled against the government's conduct during the nearly two-year war.
Since the war began, Israel has seized thousands of people in Gaza whom it suspects of links to Hamas. Thousands have also been released without charge, often after months of detention.
Rights groups have documented widespread abuse in prisons and detention facilities, including insufficient food and health care, as well as poor sanitary conditions and beatings. In March, a 17-year-old Palestinian boy died at an Israeli prison, and doctors said starvation was likely the main cause of death.

Taco Bell rethinks AI drive-through after man orders 18,000 waters
If an LLM can't be trusted with a fast food order, I can't imagine what it is reliable enough for. I really was expecting this was the easy use case for the things.
It sounds like most orders still worked, so I guess we'll see if other chains come to the same conclusion.

Yemeni drone successfully hits Ramon Airport in southern Palestine
A Yemeni drone successfully breached occupied Palestinian airspace, penetrated Israeli air defenses, and struck its target in Ramon Airport in occupied al-Naqab, southern occupied Palestine, on Sunday.
Footage circulated on social media platforms showed the explosion of the Yemeni aircraft and smoke rising from the site in the aftermath.
Israeli media then confirmed that the drone, which was the fourth launched from Yemen today, hit a passenger terminal at Ramon Airport, injuring two settlers.
The three earlier drones launched from Yemen were allegedly intercepted.
In light of the operation, aerial navigation over the airport was halted, Reuters reported, citing the Israeli Airport Authority.

Is Soundcloud a good service that I should pay for if I have the money ?
Just asking what everyone thinks of the platform. I rarely listen to music, but it seems like spotify but community edition.
There are paid features but I don't seem to need them (Desktop only user), no DRM protection so I can download if I want, site is not heavy on my humble resources.
This post is just asking if Soundcloud is something I should talk positively about. Moral compass in the high seas.

I've never used Bandcamp, but that is like the only place I would consider giving money to. On Friday's all profits go directly to the creators themselves, and you own the music. Idk if they use DRM, but they have several audio/encoding options.
Like others said, if you're gonna pirate, then pirate, but if you do wanna give people money then Bandcamp is best. Especially since you're not streaming music when pirating (or at least not from a public service)

Recognising Palestinian state could trigger 'unilateral' action, Israel warns
Israel’s foreign minister branded a recent international push to recognise Palestinian statehood a “mistake” on Sunday and warned it could trigger an unspecified unilateral response, after reports that Israel plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.Several countries, including France and Britain, have pledged to recognise a Palestinian state on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly this month.

why can't i use piefed.social accounts with crust.piefed.social?
It's a different instance, not just a different interface.
Crust is a instance running the latest version of the software, where changes are made almost immediately, which can lead to instability
Piefed.social is running the stable version of the software, and gets updates for specific releases
Like Blaze mentioned, it's a whole different instance, running a different, experimental version of the code. It's the instance we use for testing features for the next version of piefed.
If you want to make an account, feel free to register (I try to check registrations often). However, due to its testing nature, it might be a bit unstable and could not play nice with some mobile apps.

(EDIT: my inbox seems to be filling with the same response over and over. At no point am I trying to excuse the complicity of others; "it's not just Netanyahu" is hardly a deep insight.)

(EDIT: I'm not going to reply further individually because all replies so far seem to be wilfully missing or misrepresenting my point in order to keep grinding your well-meaning axes, as well as pettyfogging over semantics. It's a pointless conversation if you're just talking straight past me.)

in reply to skisnow • • •genocidal ethnic cleansing has been going on since the 'founding' of israel. if you say "hitler did the holocaust," that's true but not the complete truth, it misses all those key supporters who enthusiastically participated and without whose support the holocaust could not have taken place. placing the responsibility for a campaign of genocide enacted and supported by the political will of an entire nation onto the shoulders of a single scapegoat robs people of their agency and thereby tends to legitimize "just following bibi's orders" as a defense. you didn't mean to "perfect is the enemy of good" your way into the nuremburg defense did you? surely you must have had another direction in mind for scapegoating an entire genocide.
edit: also I'm pretty sure my aphorism was novel, or at least rare, not trite. see if you can come up with where it's been said before since you say it's trite. i tried.
edit: i found it. "a king does not enact his own will" is basically a summary of . pretty sure that's where i got it. you decide if it's trite.

(edit: and not incidentally, with which words' meaning do you say i am playing semantics?)
editing your comment to state your intention not to bother replying doesn't count as not bothering replying.

in reply to skisnow • • •That would imply removing Netanyahu would end the genocide (it won't).
If anything, he's actually dragging it out as his contemporaries are even more hardline insane and would justify sacrificing relations with the US to go full gas chambers execution.
He didn't stay in power by being wildly unpopular. He's just another drop in the barrel of similar nation leaders like India's Modi or Russia's putin.
All three are very well supported publicly and privately, despite what some media outlets may want you to believe.

in reply to skisnow • • •While it might feel like Netanyahu's genocide, what with the defense minister switching and all, the truth of all people in power is:
They have support from others.
From fanatic support to apathy, someone is listening to what he says (and making his dreams a reality), while others are letting it happen by not doing anything.
Had Netanyahu suggested genocide and gotten laughed at, none of this would be hapening.
Yet he didn't get laughed at. He got listened to instead.
