Israel's Supreme Court says Palestinian prisoners are not being fed enough

Israel's Supreme Court on Sunday ruled that the government has failed to provide Palestinian security prisoners with adequate food for basic subsistence and ordered authorities to improve their nutrition.

The decision was a rare case in which the country's highest court ruled against the government's conduct during the nearly two-year war.

Since the war began, Israel has seized thousands of people in Gaza whom it suspects of links to Hamas. Thousands have also been released without charge, often after months of detention.

Rights groups have documented widespread abuse in prisons and detention facilities, including insufficient food and health care, as well as poor sanitary conditions and beatings. In March, a 17-year-old Palestinian boy died at an Israeli prison, and doctors said starvation was likely the main cause of death.

If even their own court ruöed against it in such a regime, then it must have been really, really bad.

“A peddler (American English) or pedlar (British English) is a door-to-door and/or travelling vendor of goods.” (Wikipedia)

Long after That Event, when no one remembered what day it was any more, great caravans of cyclists, or peddlers, would travel along the ancient autobahns, ringing bells, flashing many-coloured lights, playing music, making pizza and electricity, seldom stopping, except to swap a battery for flour. And whenever people gathered to watch them pass, those days were known as Solarpunk Sundays, though no one remembers why.

Taco Bell rethinks AI drive-through after man orders 18,000 waters

If an LLM can't be trusted with a fast food order, I can't imagine what it is reliable enough for. I really was expecting this was the easy use case for the things.

It sounds like most orders still worked, so I guess we'll see if other chains come to the same conclusion.

I can’t imagine what it is reliable enough for.

Yemeni drone successfully hits Ramon Airport in southern Palestine

A Yemeni drone successfully breached occupied Palestinian airspace, penetrated Israeli air defenses, and struck its target in Ramon Airport in occupied al-Naqab, southern occupied Palestine, on Sunday.

Footage circulated on social media platforms showed the explosion of the Yemeni aircraft and smoke rising from the site in the aftermath.

Israeli media then confirmed that the drone, which was the fourth launched from Yemen today, hit a passenger terminal at Ramon Airport, injuring two settlers.

The three earlier drones launched from Yemen were allegedly intercepted.

In light of the operation, aerial navigation over the airport was halted, Reuters reported, citing the Israeli Airport Authority.

Is Soundcloud a good service that I should pay for if I have the money ?

Just asking what everyone thinks of the platform. I rarely listen to music, but it seems like spotify but community edition.
There are paid features but I don't seem to need them (Desktop only user), no DRM protection so I can download if I want, site is not heavy on my humble resources.

This post is just asking if Soundcloud is something I should talk positively about. Moral compass in the high seas.

in reply to zaknenou

I've never used Bandcamp, but that is like the only place I would consider giving money to. On Friday's all profits go directly to the creators themselves, and you own the music. Idk if they use DRM, but they have several audio/encoding options.

Like others said, if you're gonna pirate, then pirate, but if you do wanna give people money then Bandcamp is best. Especially since you're not streaming music when pirating (or at least not from a public service)

in reply to fuckwit_mcbumcrumble

Bingo. I bought an album on Bandcamp and dropped it right into my Plex server.
in reply to Novaling

Its only a few Fridays each year when bandcamp doesnt take their cut, but I try to only buy albums there on those days.
in reply to TwiddleTwaddle

If you're using something like Bandcamp, the artists are already getting thousands of times the money you are giving them from listening on Spotify, I think it's good enough. Even iTunes is thousands of times better.

That's right, a friend told me that he gets a lot more from a single purchase on bandcamp, that from spotify
in reply to AppearanceBoring9229

Spotify earnings are abysmal for anyone other than the biggest artists.
in reply to realitista

And the Bandcamp team deserves their cut for making that happen.

Unlike the Spotify team.

in reply to zaknenou

SoundCloud is a place for high school kids to form a career. So, no.

If you have the money, support the creators directly.
in reply to zaknenou

Personally, I do not think that there is a purpose in speaking well about it. That being said I would also not speak badly about it. My own moral compass would be speak badly about the conpanies that deserve to be gotten rid of and simply use the companies that provide decent services. No need to praise a company for offering a decent service.

Over 300 South Koreans to return home after arrests at US Hyundai plant

US immigration authorities said on Friday that they had detained 475 people, most of them South Korean nationals, when hundreds of federal agents raided Hyundai’s sprawling manufacturing site in Georgia, where the Korean automaker makes electric vehicles.

The Pew Research Center, citing preliminary Census Bureau data, said the US labour force lost more than 1.2 million immigrants from January through July.

in reply to Lee Duna

I’m waiting for Hyundai to close the doors while they sort out specialized skilled labour issues.

Recognising Palestinian state could trigger 'unilateral' action, Israel warns

Israel’s foreign minister branded a recent international push to recognise Palestinian statehood a “mistake” on Sunday and warned it could trigger an unspecified unilateral response, after reports that Israel plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

Several countries, including France and Britain, have pledged to recognise a Palestinian state on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly this month.

Like Blaze mentioned, it's a whole different instance, running a different, experimental version of the code. It's the instance we use for testing features for the next version of piefed.

If you want to make an account, feel free to register (I try to check registrations often). However, due to its testing nature, it might be a bit unstable and could not play nice with some mobile apps.
