China Plans to Dominate a Key Semiconductor Material(Polysilicon).
- Polysilicon is often described as one of the purest materials on Earth. It is used as the substrate material for a range of products, most importantly chips and solar panels.
- Beijing has provided significant support to its domestic polysilicon industry to establish Chinese firms as the dominant global suppliers of solar-grade polysilicon and is seeking to push its firms to expand their share of semiconductor-grade polysilicon.
- Chinese overproduction of polysilicon and silicon carbide is causing the global price for these materials to crater, undermining the short- and long-term financial viability of leading firms in the United States and allied countries.
- Forced labor has already been linked to China’s critical minerals sector, in particular rare earth mining and refining, increasing the likelihood that forced labor is integrated into China’s polysilicon supply chain.
- The Commerce Department has launched a Section 232 investigation into polysilicon and derivative products, providing a unique opportunity to ensure that critical infrastructure supply chains do not become dependent on Chinese inputs.
- The administration should prohibit imports of Chinese-origin or -linked polysilicon or derivative products, and require products containing Chinese-origin or -linked polysilicon to document that no forced labor was used in their production.
- The departments of Commerce, Defense, and Treasury should support U.S.-based expansion of polysilicon and silicon-carbide production capacity.

I techbro di queste grosse aziende (non nello specifico le FAANG, anche centinaia di “minori”) sono non solo stronzi, in quanto perfettamente consapevoli di contribuire direttamente alla creazione di prodotti e servizi equiparabili a droga, software sempre in qualche modo dannoso per la psiche umana, nonostante sono loro che fanno le decisioni (insomma, parlo più di manager e salcazzi vari, non coloro che scrivono il codice sotto gli ordini dei draghi sputafuoco; anche se, qualora siano molto ricchi anche loro, non saranno risparmiati)… Sono soprattutto giganteschi ipocriti, che in primis si fanno riserve sull’usare la loro stessa tecnologia! 🤮
Il video fa diversi esempi, uno più allucinante dell’altro, ma secondo me il peggiore (cioè, quello che funziona meglio) è il fatto che i techbro restringono questa tecnologia in famiglia, andando dal non usarla a casa fino al bandirla completamente ai figli! Probabilmente molti conoscono quello che all’epoca pareva un caso eclatante, cioè che Steve Jobs non lasciava usare ai suoi figli (piccoli?) iPod e iPad… ma io ignoravo (e penso quasi tutti, altrimenti la società non sarebbe come è oggi) che nel salotto cattivo della California questa fosse praticamente la norma… 😱
…Ma, non solo niente tecnologie smart moderne AI agile connection cloud touch ai figli, ma addirittura niente in generale… neanche a scuola: li mandano in istituti di primo e secondo grado che costano più di una fottuta università (ricchi di merda) e dove, a differenza di qualsiasi scuola per persone normali, per i figli del popolo e non di un élite dei miei coglioni, tutto viene fatto senza alcuna tecnologia, perché si ritiene (forse non a torto, stando alle statistiche) che evitarla completamente porti più pro che contro nell’ambito dell’istruzione. E se è davvero così come si pensa, è gravissimo, perché vorrebbe dire (come se non ci fossero già altre mille conferme a riguardo, vabbé) che tutta la storiella delle pari opportunità sotto il nostro sistema economico, che ognuno può “farsi da sé”, è una stronzata colossale: i bambini non hanno margine di manovra, e non sono loro che scelgono se andare ad una scuola per ricchi dove imparano veramente, o una normale dove si brainrottano. 😫
Ora, io personalmente spero che questi bambini non stiano totalmente a secco di tecnologia, perché sarebbe triste… cioè spero abbiano almeno un 3DS per fare il gaming e magari foto e video, e quantomeno un PC a casa per rovinarsi già in tenera età con il coding, o fare un server Minecraft, o creare siti web, non lo so… Però, a parte la mia opinione personale, la situazione è oggettivamente vomitevole. Questi ricchi bastardi, che sono per esempio capi di social network (come uno di Facebook nel video), non lasciano usare il social ai figli non per i motivi soliti e giusti del tipo di “è pieno di pedofili” (cosa a cui risponderei di sistemare la moderazione, merde!), o che dovrebbero tenere d’occhio cosa ci fanno sopra ma non hanno tempo… glieli vietano per la struttura in sé: perché queste piattaforme sono fatte apposta, come sappiamo, per causare assuefazione. 😶
Io, come sempre, non ho parole. Questi minchioni sanno perfettamente i danni che il loro “lavoro” causa alla società, e invece di cambiare rotta se ne fottono — ma, non quando si tratta delle persone a loro care. Un comportamento immorale e sociopatico a dire poco… e io, veramente, non so come devo fare ancora a vivere in un mondo così terribile, visto che la gente non si sveglia e quindi fare una rivoluzione a livello mondiale, che è l’unica rivoluzione che funzionerebbe, è praticamente impossibile. 😭😭😭

Cucire la necessità.
Parliamo di cucito sartoriale e creativo, senza distinzione. Reinizia la scuola, ci serve un astuccio: cuciamolo. Abbiamo le mestruazioni e ci rendiamo conto che abbiamo voglia di fare la differenza, disegnandoci un cartamodello di assorbenti su misura. Mutande lise? Cuciamocene un bel paio! Grembiule per non sporcarci? Ecco fatto!
Non si arriva a fare tutto dall’oggi al domani, ma con il sostegno dei tanti account che condividono gratuitamente le loro esperienze, qualche libro e qualche modellista che vi vende le sue preziose idee su carta (la conoscete mammaconstoffa, Elisa Masi?) ), ecco che abbiamo le basi per partire!

Markey, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley sent a letter Thursday to Acting US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons urging the agency to stop using “Mobile Fortify,” a smartphone app that uses biometric identification, including facial recognition. The lawmakers said facial recognition remains unreliable and warned that real-time surveillance could have a chilling effect on constitutionally protected activities.
"As studies have shown, when individuals believe they are being surveilled, they are less likely to engage in First Amendment-protected activities, such as protests or rallies — undermining the very core of our democracy,” the senators wrote.
They requested answers from the agency by October 2 as to who built the app, when it was deployed, whether ICE tested its accuracy, the legal basis for its use and current agency policies governing the tool's use. They also asked whether ICE would commit to ending the use of Mobile Fortify, and to explain why if they would not. The letter was also signed by Senators Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Chris Van Holle, Tina Smith, Bernie Sanders and Adam Schiff.

The government wants AI to accelerate quickly in the U.S. — and it's about to take the first steps to remove as much red tape as possible, Office of Science and Technology Policy director Michael Kratsios told Axios in an exclusive interview.
Why it matters: Kratsios is at the center of AI policy in the Trump administration, and the White House is laser-focused on reshaping the rules around the technology.
Driving the news: OSTP later this month will ask the public and businesses to weigh in on the federal regulations that they think hold back the development and deployment of AI, Kratsios told Axios.
This request for information is the first policy action recommended in the White House's AI action plan aimed at removing bureaucratic red tape.
What they're saying: Kratsios said that Europe's comprehensive AI law, the EU AI Act, is "not at all the way the U.S. is approaching this" space.
The White House is instead backing what he describes as a "use-case and sector-specific" framework.
For example, in health care, there could be regulations that hinder the development of particular medical devices, Kratsios said. Or in finance, there could be regs around algorithmic trading and consumer protection holding AI back.
Kratsios also applauded Senate Commerce Chair Ted Cruz's recent introduction of legislation that would allow companies to test products in a less-strictly regulated AI "sandbox," or testing zone.
"Sandboxing, broadly in the world of emerging tech, is something I have been a big proponent of, and the president has supported over the years," Kratsios said.

E io, ormai, sto perdendo la pazienza oltre ogni limite veramente normale, al punto che non so cosa succederà se le cose continuano per questa via… non ce la faccio veramente più, il tutto fa così troppo schifo, e non c’è una singola app di messaggistica che sia migliore, nonostante siamo nel fottuto anno 2025 d.C (o 5 d.C, dopo Covid), questa è la rogna. 😭
In breve, il problema è che Telegram ha ogni fottuto giorno sempre problemi minori — e non parlo solo degli eventuali client glitchati, che ormai son pane quotidiano, ma proprio di cose che si rompono a livello di backend, di continuo — che vanno a rovinare malamente quello che all’atto pratico è un servizio di pubblica utilità, nonostante Pavel Durov sia talmente ricco sfondato di soldi che, se si decidesse a usarli per bene, quindi per il bene della piattaforma e degli utenti, investendo grandemente in ricerca e sviluppo oltre che in dei server funzionanti, questi problemi logicamente non esisterebbero… E, non solo questo, ma da classico riccone si riempie sempre la bocca di stronzate, e gli scemi che gli vanno appresso lo pagano pure per ciò. 😿Da qualche giorno sto vedendo un problema stranissimo per cui le anteprime per molti link, in genere esterni ma a volte anche interni, non si generano o non si aggiornano… ed è 1 problema. Oggi però, come se le incazzature accumulate non fossero abbastanza, la bot API HTTP (e anche altra roba web, a quanto pare, che però non ha impattato me in quel momento) ha smesso di funzionare per tipo un’ora buona… e tipo tutti i bot inizialmente hanno smesso di funzionare, poi qualcuno ha recuperato, e ma ovviamente il mio @WinDogBot ci ha messo secoli a recuperare, nonostante lo riavviassi a mano di continuo. Mamma che schifo! 👹
E nel mentre (cioè, poco dopo, ma vabbè) che gli utenti col cervello non liscio soffrono, il capo mafia se ne esce con l’ennesimo post politico scritto in 2 minuti non solo per pavoneggiarsi lui e la sua piattaforma di cazzo, ma per racimolare soldi… racimolare soldi sopra la morte di un tizio assassinato… perché, come ad ogni suo post, accetta le stelle, e il suo canale è pieno di coglioni che gliele danno. Bastardo. In questo momento, con circa 400mila visualizzazioni, ha raccolto 12,5mila stelle, che valgono circa 208 euro… per aver scritto la roba più banale di sempre e con il solito intento immorale, ossia portare acqua+soldi al proprio mulino; anziché fare un post di scuse per il disservizio del momento. Non ho davvero parole. ☠️
Chiedo non ironicamente aiuto, perché ho perso le speranze. Da questo momento l’unica cosa che potrò fare è semplicemente desiderare che Durov, una mattina a caso, si svegli e semplicemente rinsavisca: desidero che da un momento all’altro si accorga dello schifo che fa da ricco, e di sua spontanea volontà prima venda tutti gli yatch (o gli altri oggetti superflui che ha, ora non so), poi metta di botto una gran parte del suo patrimonio in Telegram per sanare le gigantesche lacune che questo affare ha, e poi si dia alla beneficenza, alle opere buone. Oh, non desidero che si ammali, e nemmeno che qualcuno gli levi ciò che ha… voglio che sia lui a diventare buono spontaneamente, cazzarola e porca puttana!!! 😭😭😭
Comunque, in generale sembra che tutti questi esseri umani, in assoluto, più diventano ricchi e più diventano stronzi… soprattutto in ambito tech, più diventano personalmente ricchi e meno gli importa dei prodotti che loro stessi hanno creato e che sono diventati (in grande o piccola parte, dipende dai casi) monopolio di settore; pazienza se l’esperienza per gli utenti fa schifo, basta che loro possono farsi le vacanze da ricchi, e parlare dal proprio piedistallo come se fossero divinità… quando, a differenza mia, non lo sono neanche a metà. (…Non datemi assolutamente mai soldi, perché ho paura di finire pure io male come ‘sti techbro dimmerda, ma vi scongiuro: non dateli nemmeno a quelli che sono già ricchi, piuttosto spendeteli per roba veramente bona.) 🕳️

In the case, filed in 2021, U.S. prosecutors accused Milton of falsely claiming that Nikola had built an electric- and hydrogen-powered pickup from scratch and developed batteries in-house while knowingly sourcing them externally.
Milton, who received a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump this year, also waived his right to seek legal costs and released all claims against the agency, the document showed.

What next to nobody on Mastodon knows is that the Fediverse has had quote-posts for a bit over 15 years, namely since the launch of Mistpark (today known as Friendica) in 2010. That's not only longer than the term "Fediverse" is old, it's also longer than Mastodon has been around.
For as long as Mastodon has existed, it has been possible to quote-post just about anyone and anything on Mastodon.
Oh, and for as long as Mastodon will exist, the non-Fediverse will be able to quote-post any and all public Mastodon toots with zero resistance, opt-in or opt-out or not.
