The interesting thing about this one is that I'm pretty sure the artist was working only from bones, and was doing a life restoration — pretty much what palaeoartists do now. The obvious giveaway at that he has the tusks (which preserves extremely well, being largely enamel) but not the trunk (which is soft tissue). But there are other hints — the feet have the form of the skeleton's feet, but not those of the live animal.
