But also, a huge portion of this is active *attack on reality* by hostile parties. Education trying to inoculate everyone against the latest attacks is not a scalable solution to this. The solution is having the political will to smash the parties doing it.

in reply to Pat • • •@patrascan @gardencatt What critical thinking skills classes?? For a lot of people who grew up in this country's schools, the best example of "expertise" was asshole adults confidently insisting they believe things which were often false and punishing them for questioning that.
They did not "miss out on a good thing" by sleeping through it. There was no good thing. They experienced a bad thing by birth lottery, and that became their frame of reference.
