Het is al een jaar of 3 geleden dat ik voor het laatst bij macdonald's heb gegeten. Op de socials zie je genoeg filmpjes - voornamelijk uit Amerika - waarin mensen heel trots een "uitgebreide maaltijd" samenstellen met gegrilde dingen, véél vlees*, sausjes, 'groenten' en daar dan snoevend een hap van nemen... Het is allemaal het grill- en barbecue-gebeuren waar ik niet van houd. Ben ik nu de Mac aan het buckleren?
*echt veel vlees is een macdonald's burger nou ook weer niet, de knieperds.

An open-ended question for all you computer geeks: what would you want to learn, see or try when it comes to first (vacuum tubes, 1948-1960) and second (transistors, 1956-1963) generation digital computers? Is it architecture? Capabilities? Software? Programming? Quirks? "Can it run Doom"? Things that became obsolete? Things that stayed the same? Something else completely?
Can't promise I'll deliver, but I'm curious to know!

@stylus Isn't this partly what the D-Wave systems are doing? They have lots of marketing about quantum, and the "qbits" they use (which aren't, in the Shors-algorithm sense). But AIUI, what they do have is a really really good simulated annealing system which uses actual annealing of collections of quantum states to solve problems.
So it's basically using physics to solve problems that map directly to physical processes -- in other words, it's an analogue computer.

About bottle caps and a general denial of reality.
I made this work in 2012. I filled a humming top with plastic objects found in the stomach of one albatross chick on Kure Atoll (Northwestern Hawaiian islands). 340 g. Cigarette lighters, plastic fragments, toys and mainly bottle caps.
There is a reason why the lids no longer come off the bottles!

Copilot è diventato una piaga assoluta partita come un epidemia da Microsoft. Iniziò su Windows 11 e su GitHub, ora sta persino su Firefox (Mozilla, posso dire per una volta hai rotto il cazzo?), Xbox e le Smart TV Samsung.
A momenti mi viene pure da pensare DOOM con Copilot (scherzi a parte) integrato nel gioco dove puoi chiedere all'IA di fottere l'intero gioco a piacimento.
Io non so più, ma ora mi viene un po' l'ansia di non saper trovare un portatile nuovo che non HA il tasto Copilot.
Ho visto che il portatile di mio fratello ha il tasto Copilot, cosa che simbolizza per me un segno di posizione assoluta sul design della tastiera indesiderato.
Atroce, perché se lo vedo integrato in tutti i fottuti laptop con Windows non c'è altro da fare ma ricoprirlo con una etichetta simpatica perché il logo di Copilot non lo voglio vedere, e piuttosto cercherei un modo di disattivarlo o trasformarlo in un tasto di scorciatoia.

So, I finally started to write down daily notes about whatever with #obsidian and I’m actually feeling productive with it!
Seriously though, just writing down whatever thoughts you have at random can really help mental clarity! It doesn’t even need to be a certain way!
This is definitely something that I've found to be really helpful.
I've taken it to a *bit* of an extreme though - I have what I call a psuedo-blog, essentially a private me-only blog and try to structure what I write as if it were on my public blog.
When I'm stuck on something (whether technical or a decision), forcing myself to write it in a format that forces me to explain it to others is often unbelieveably helpful.

Wenn Autofahrt Fahrradfahrer schneiden oder sonstwie behindern, besteht für Fahrradfahrer jedesmal ernste Gefahr für Leib und Leben. Dennoch geben die meisten Autofahrer hinterher Fahrradfahrern die Schuld.
Umgekehrt fühlen sie sich zu Gewalt berechtigt.
Und prahlen damit offen im Netz.
Der Typ sieht schon so aus....
Aber als Fahrrad- UND Autofahrerin kann ich sagen, dass beide Seiten unfassbar gefährliche Dinge mit einer gruseligen Selbstverständlichkeit machen - ja auch die Fahrradfahrer, die das nächstschwächere Glied: die Fußgänger - gefährden (da könnte ich aus meinen reichhaltigen, persönlichen UND täglichen Erfahrungen berichten). Im Vergleich zum Auto ist das Fahrrad dann wieder in der schwächeren Position.
Gegenseitige Rücksicht würde allen Beteiligten helfen.
Da hast du leider auch Recht, Leute werden nicht automatisch klug, nur, weil sie sich aufs Rad setzen
