I'm not quite sure how I'm feeling about my current mastodon instance. It's on v4.1.13 which is ancient, unsupported, and missing nice QoL features.

I'm not complaining though, I know well enough how cumbersome and time-consuming it can be to keep self-hosted stuff moderately up-to-date. That's the main reason why I haven't tried (yet?) running my own instance.
So.... I don't know. Maybe I'll consider yet another migration. Which is one of the nicer features of Mastodon!
I'll probably slim it down by removing cache and messages older than 2 years as it seems most don't really care about keeping very old messages.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be patient then. It's interesting to hear about the disk space required by a moderately small instance.

I'm making my first pair of mittens and am following a pattern where the thumb is knit first after the bottom of the mitt. However I don't understand where I'm supposed to add the 4 stitches so that they're at the end of the round OR that they're after I've knit the 14 existing stitches twice? 🥲 Am I to place them on another set of needles to have them be round?

When you ask a pet parrot "Who's a pretty bird?" and the bird excitedly responds, "Pretty bird! Pretty bird!" you are having more of a real conversation with avian intelligence than you are with AI. But human beings are so easily fooled by good grammar and syntax that if you could teach a bird to respond, "You know, Sooz, I've thought about this a bit and it occurs to me that I am indeed a pretty bird," most humans would assume it understood exactly what it was saying. They would be blinded by eloquence.
