Ok, the way you escape Pandemonium is that you help it by explicitly distancing nodes from each other using intermediate Junction nodes.
You only ever connect at most one node to one outgoing direction of another node, you assume they're on a grid where one node is one unit from its neighbor, and you avoid overlapping nodes.
Don't give the layout engine anything to work out for you, and it won't go haywire.

In der Zwischenzeit sind aber immer mehr ehemalige Polizeiaufgaben von Bürgerämtern, Ordnungsämtern, privaten Sicherheitsdiensten, der Bundespolizei und von Technik übernommen worden, aber trotzdem ist die Institution immer noch "überlastet", obwohl dort nicht gespart wird.
Vielleicht sind die Sparmaßnahmen im Sozialen, bei der Jugendarbeit und bei der Drogenprävention das Problem?

Does anyone have any clear patterns for managing windows in #Emacs?
What I mean is: when I start something like Magit or Geiser, or run something from eshell (like grep) that opens a new window, where it shows up feels somewhat random depending on my existing split-window configuration. What’s worse, it’s inconsistent depending on what’s creating the window.
I’d like to control this a little bit more. Where do I start?
Also, is there an easy way to organise and move windows around—for example, transposing them?

In den Log-Dateien unserer Server bezüglich Fediverse-Anwendungen (Mastodon, Friendica und Hubzilla) tauchen immer mehr Meldungen auf, die darauf hinweisen, dass:
- entsprechende Instanzen schlecht gepflegt sind
- entsprechende Instanzen öfter offline gehen
- entsprechende Instanzen fehlerhaft konfiguriert sind
Kann sein, dass dieser Zustand "schon immer so war" und wir das Ganze erst jetzt bemerken, weil wir unsere Instanzen erst seit reichlich 2 Jahren (reichlich 2 Jahre betrifft Mastodon) betreiben.
Warum schreibe ich diesen Artikel? Weil ich der Meinung bin, dass das Fediverse mit schlecht gepflegten Instanzen keine "Freunde" gewinnen kann. Das heißt, das gesamte Netzwerk Fediverse kann nur so gut sein, wie seine "schlechteste" Instanz.
Eventuell könnte es notwendig sein, gegenseitig technische Hilfestellungen zu geben. @Matthias und @Doris 🦉🇪🇺 organisieren bereits Online-Sprechtage zum Thema Friendica bzw. Fediverse. Diese Möglichkeiten sollte rege genutzt und weiter ausgebaut werden.

Diese Mechanismen existieren. Die jeweiligen Projekte prüfen selbstständig die Erreichbarkeit externer Server und setzen die Abfragen-Priorität nach und nach zurück, bis sie irgendwann nicht nicht mehr angesprochen werden.
Bis so ein inaktiver Server raus ist kann es Wochen und Monaten dauern. Das macht Sinn, weil es verschiedene Gründe geben kann, weshalb ein Server nicht erreichbar ist.
Anders sieht es natürlich aus, wenn das Protokoll unglücklich implementiert wird und dadurch eine vermeidbare Load erzeugt wird, die sich auf den eigenen Server negativ auswirkt. So etwas muss repariert werden. Häufig sind es aber nicht die verursachenden Projekte die das reparieren, sondern die anderen Projekte. Daraus entsteht eine verdrehte Verantwortung.

Ti ammiro molto, ci avevo provato anch'io appena prima che mi vemsise la voglia di buttarmi a condividere cose sui grandi social.
