Reports on what I've been working on the last couple days. Mostly reorganization. I feel compelled to promote non corporate sites on the corporate sites. Few will be shown my content but my work update is incomplete if I fail to mention what feels good about it, I'm building my own space outside Meta. One of the few games on my phone is a mobile version of an old, simple but often frustrating pattern recognition game called "Set." It's excellent for keeping your brain sharp.
The game goes like this: You get dealt 12 cards to start all laid out in front of you. Each card has 1, 2 or 3 shapes; each of the shapes on the card is either red, green or blue; and each shape is either fully shaded with the color, striped, or clear w/ just the color on the edge of the shape(s).
The object for each 12 cards is to find a "Set," which consists of three cards that are either:
a) all alike in at least one way
b) not at all alike
If you have any doubts whether any three cards are a set, the rule "If two of the cards are one thing and one of them is not, it's not a Set" usually helps.
Anyway, I discovered something amazing today after playing the app version of this game for the umpteenth time over many years. The app has a version of the game that only does solid shapes, and so it makes the game way less challenging, and a lot faster. What I discovered and have repeatedly demonstrated now is that my score and time for completing the most complex version of this game improved remarkably after just playing the easy version once before trying the harder version.
There's a card game that works similarly, Spot it! or Dobble if you are outside the US. All cards have a match with others, lots of small variations in play. It's humbling to lose so hard to an 8 year old. But great to have a game where adult knowledge isn't a boon.

Spaziergang in der Mittagspause über den Garnisonsfriedhof in #Rendsburg. Hier liegen Tote der Kriege der letzten 200 Jahre. Revolutionäre der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Erhebung 1848, Soldaten aus dem Deutsch-Dänischen Krieg 1864 und natürlich wird hier an die Gefallenen aus dem ersten und zweiten Weltkrieg gedacht. Es gibt aber auch einen Gedenkstein für Russische Zwangsarbeiter, die in Rendsburg umgebracht worden sind.

Ich bin nun auf dem Rückweg. Dazu bin ich heute Richtung Westen ca. 80 km nach Norwegen gefahren.
Ein bisschen Wehmut kam auf, bald werde ich diese nahezu endlosen Wälder verlassen haben. Ich werde es vermissen auf so langen Strecken fast alleine da durch geradelt zu sein, jeden Kilometer genießend.
Das Wetter hatte heute alles zu bieten. Wind von vorn, von der Seite und im Rücken, sowie Sonne und ausgiebigen Regen.
Nach den ersten knapp 10 km ging es stetig aber gemächlich auf einer Landatraße bergauf. Nach dem Passieren der norwegisch-schwedischen Grenze ging es dann im Regen auf norwegischen Schotter weiter bergauf. Ich hatte mir da bereits die Überzieher über die Schuhe gezogen, warme und trockene Füße sind Gold. Der Rest war nass.
Als es dann wieder Asphalt unter den Reifen gab, kam die Sonne raus und die Strecke wurde flacher und der Wind gab gut Schub und die Klamotten konnten ein wenig trocknen.
