in reply to Dan Gillmor • • •That's why I don't buy cameras (besides the ones that come attached to devices, which I find ways to lock down... like tape) that connect to the internet. There are plenty of cams that just record to SD cards, and I keep a USB-C SD card reader with my phone and one in the car, but usually put cards in my Linux PC.
If it's connected, it's not private. If it is, you pretty much intend to stream, which means you don't own the content.
