"Krizi v automobilovém a ocelářském průmyslu bude řešit Ocelový summit pořádaný berlínskou vládou. Kancléř Friedrich Merz konání summitu oznámil po jednání se svými koaličními partnery. #Berlín tak reaguje na otevřený dopis od evropských automobilek, který spustil ofenzívu proti zeleným plánům Bruselu.
Přední výrobci automobilů varují, že zákaz spalovacích motorů od roku 2035 je nereálný a v kombinaci s drahou energií ohrožuje celé odvětví. V dopise předsedkyni Evropské komise Ursule von der Leyenové připomínají, že evropský trh svírá tlak čínských elektromobilů, amerických cel a vysokých cen energií, zatímco většina zisků stále plyne z vozů se spalovacím motorem.
Na to přišla i reakce z Berlína. Německý kancléř Friedrich #Merz oznámil, že vláda svolá takzvaný Ocelový summit, na němž se bude jednat nejen o kondici hutnictví a ocelářského průmyslu, ale také o automobilech. Politici tím chtějí vyslat jasný signál do Bruselu, že obavy průmyslu z Green Dealu berou vážně a že kabinet má plán, jak udržet pracovní místa v době recese a rostoucí nezaměstnanosti, píše německý deník Bild.
Podle předsedy #SPD Larse Klingbeila je tento summit důležitým signálem pro Brusel. „Evropský plán transformace automobilového průmyslu musí přestat být idealistický a uznat současné průmyslové a geopolitické problémy,“ prohlásil prezident Evropského sdružení výrobců automobilů Ola #Källenius a šéf Evropského sdružení dodavatelů automobilového průmyslu Matthias Zink podle agentury Bloomberg.
„Splnit cíle v oblasti emisí oxidu uhličitého do roku 2035 je prostě už nereálné,“ pokračují v otevřeném dopise z konce srpna. Prohlášení poukazuje na rostoucí napětí mezi ekonomickými tlaky a klimatickými ambicemi. Na trhu už jsou sice desítky modelů elektromobilů, ale ty stále tvoří pouze 15 % prodejů. Většinu zisků stále generují vozy se spalovacími motory (hlavně drahá #SUV a prémiové modely).

I recently had the opportunity to ride the Great Western Railway and it was brilliant. Took a sleeper coach, a local branch train, and another day train. Brilliant. So comfortable and easy.
Then I took Te Huia to get home. It’s great, but not as great as the trains we had 30 years ago.

I am also a bit leery of any site that isn’t just a straight petition on the Parliament website. Parliamentary Services already provide the websites right here in Aotearoa so it’s disappointing we need to jump around a plethora of sites to find all the petitions.
