Peaceful Reflection
This is one of my early images, and I was immediately drawn to the ripples and the reflection. There’s a painterly quality to it that I truly appreciate. I captured it in Georgia at a small, hidden pond tucked away across from our hotel. It was near dusk—quiet and serene, despite being on the edge of the city. Oh, and the subject? A great egret (Ardea alba), standing in perfect harmony with its surroundings.

Tomorrow will mark the anniversary of my mum passing last year.
She loved the spring garden and azaleas and rhododendrons in particular.
Her garden (which used to be my garden) is full of rare and unusual double flowered azaleas and rhododendrons.
She also loved acers & has some amazing ones too.
I will always remember my mum for the absolute joy she had whenever this month came around.
One of the final things she asked me was to show her photos of the garden.
