Proč je podle Vás všeobecné vzdělání na středních a vysokých školách tak důležité? To není řečnická otázka, seriózně mne Váš názor zajímá. Znám několik lidí, včetně sebe, kteří si střední a vysokou vybírali jednak podle svých zájmů, ale také podle toho, aby tam nebyly mnou tenkrát nenáviděné předměty, které jsem se musel s odporem našprtat.
Přijde mi tragické, když na uměleckou střední školu nevezmeme studenta, co byl absolutně nejlepší v talentových zkouškách, kvůli tomu že má z povinné matematiky málo bodů. Takže místo abychom vzdělávali špičkového motivovaného umělce, budeme vzdělávat průměrného, který ale není podprůměrný v matematice. Toto je bohužel příklad z reality.

As somebody else pointed out though I misread the tide table. The tide seems to have been coming on, which could mean a strong current in the direction up river.

What I don't get is *why* is it drifting that way. If I read the tides info correctly, this was ~2h after high tide, so unless there are some very weird currents there, it should have been drifting downriver: tidetime.org/north-america/uni…
