Egypt Lake via Healy Pass Banff National Park, AB

4,656 ft elevation gain
Hiked 6/9/25
Continuing on past Healy Pass will take you through sensitive grizzly habitat (stay on trail in place) down to Egypt Lake and surrounding Egypt themed mountains. This adds 6 mi to roundtrip, and almost doubles the elev. Campground near lake is highly sought after, and would be a great base camp. Also has a through hike associated with it, but I forget where the trail goes after Egypt Lake (my turnaround).
Scarab Ridge with various patches of snow dotting the mountain and larger areas of snow in the avalanche zones. Egypt lake may be seen in the lower right and partially frozen Scarab lake center.
Glacier lilies bloom all around Egypt lake campground with Greater Pharaoh rising above.
Looking across the snow patch on top of Healy Pass towards Greater Pharaoh Peak and all of the surrounding mountains.

OK, so #Pocket is shutting down. A bit late into moving my stuff over, just created an export and looking at installing something in the next few days. What are people looking at moving to, or have moved to?
I think I'll go for self-hosting, so I'm looking to test the following three (which all have a Pocket import 👍):
- Karakeep (karakeep.app/). Lots of hype around this, though the demo UI feels somewhat less compared to the hype. Maybe the hype is mainly due to the AI labeling stuff I would never enable?
- Wallabag (wallabag.it/en/). An old friend I tried for a while years ago. It felt a bit clunky then, so I stayed with Pocket, but the video on the site looks pretty good at least.
- Readeck (readeck.org/en/). Something that didn't immediately come up as an alternative, but something that looks quite good. Lack of mobile app to save stuff from seems a bit of a bummer though, but at least a Firefox extension exists.

If I were to guess: this is still a work in progress, and they’ll land somewhere in the middle by developer beta 5 after a month of public beta.
I could also see a ‘Glass Intensity’ slider in Accessibility settings / initial setup flow.

in reply to Federico Viticci • • •This is why I think Liquid Glass was a catastrophically flawed concept from the beginning. Fixing it removes the whole *point* of the design language and removes the parts that made it look good, but not fixing it was worse because it was commonly unreadable.
Anyone with decent design capabilities would've seen this coming a mile away and I can't understand why it was a surprise to Apple's team
