While the male is distinctive, the female is brown and easily mistaken for another species of Baron.

Remembrance swim 8 of 61
Cauldshiels Loch, swim and run. Just above the BGH, this was one of our favourite swims, long enough to really stretch with a few laps, intimate and quiet (long single track narrow road and 1k walk in). It is sheltered enough that inlike other nearby waters, ice was never hard in our memory (see photos). #WelsFrei. Comfortable 6k run in the paths surrounding the loch and along the ridge.
