On June 30, FCC chair Brendan Carr blocked the new rules from being enforced. Philip Vance Smith II, who is currently incarcerated at Neuse Correctional Facility in North Carolina, explains what that means to him, his family members and other people in prison, and takes a look at what happens to the money. "According to an investigation last year by the Prison Policy Initiative, 19 states use a portion of profits earned from these prison phone contracts for so-called Inmate Welfare Funds, which are supposed to be used for purchases that benefit the incarcerated population — but in reality are often just slush funds for prison and jail officials to spend with little accountability or oversight," he writes for @bolts.

@versodiverso Capisco e condivido il tuo ragionamento. Mi sono messo a indagare se nel video comparisse o meno Manu Chao, e a quanto pare non c’è. Quindi sembra un’operazione commerciale anche se in alcune interviste si accenna al fatto che abbiano collaborato insieme alla canzone…
In ogni caso a mio aprere ben venga se può servire a far conoscere Manu Chao a nuove generazioni magari spingendole ad ascoltare la versione originale che altrimenti non avrebbero mai scoperto 😀
Perchè non erano altro che youtube senza pubblicità e script spioni.
Alla fine basta avere brave installato per fare lo stesso.
