Es gibt einen Volksentscheid von letztem November gegen einen Bundesbeschluss, bestimmte Engpässe des Autobahnnetzes auszubauen.

Die Message war wie immer implizit, aber eigentlich klar: Keine Autobahnausbauten mehr.
Der zuständige Bundesrat will aber eine andere Message gehört haben. Er beschleunigt jetzt den Ausbau *anderer* Stellen des Autobahnnetzes, weil gegen die ja "niemand etwas hat".
Ich meine auch sowas gelesen zu haben, dass SVP und FDP noch mal einzeln über jedes Ausbauprojekt abstimmen wollen.

Italian notes:This one's a little tricky to word. Bottom line (heh), I'm never going to live without a bidet again. However in buying a laundry basket to fit in the rather small space beside the bidet, the clerk suggested I be careful about the kneespace it took up, a common interior design problem. What-what?? Knees... to the wall? Uh-oh. Apparently I've been doing it all wrong. It explains so much about the rest of the design, as well, both mine and theirs.

It's the eye of the storm before we go away tomorrow.
I'll go to the Petanque club at lunchtime and hope the forecast rain is late arriving. We are running out of milk and I need cash for the cat- sitter, so I'll call into the coop.

Yesterday I won a ThinkPad T560 on E-Bay for 90 quid, and it is going to arrive today at 14:00! Yippee.
So that will be that for the afternoon. This morning I am pressing with development of #mycelium bootstrap stage 1, hoping to have a working system in a fortnight. To be fair it is a bit of grunge right now, but I am excited for what it might turn into.

Second: Here in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, the heat & humidity have finally broken and we have lovely weather that seems normal for this time of year. I am reading "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Blacker" by Damon Young. This memoir is filled with LOL passages about his angst living in the US as a black child and man. Every move and decision is fraught with danger and absurdity. I am loving this book.

in reply to Charlotte Walker • • •I was a bit of a festival wuss, I popped back to my tent at 1030 last night and then didn't muster the energy to go back out to see Joy Orbison and Tom Ravenscroft. Unlike Substandard Nerd who was apparently up until 3am.
I got up early and beat the breakfast queues to a mediocre coffee and sausage roll.
This afternoon I shall meander between stages as there's nobody I'm too familiar with. This afternoon, Moin, Throwing Muses and Viagra Boys.
I'm somewhat dreading the weather - forecast is heavy rain all afternoon. So my musical choices may be constrained by "is it in a tent? Can I fit in the tent? Will it be so hot in the tent that I am better off in the rain?"
Forecast for tomorrow looks better.

I had a reaction to my monthly hormone suppression jab on Thursday, fatigue/pain/lethargy, was in bed most of yesterday, woke up to wave Dr F and Youngest off early this morning (they're off to Mykonos for a few days) and then went back to sleep.
Finally woke up about 1030.
Going to watch the F1 qualifying with my dad later and then scoff home made pizza. And then probably go to bed again!
