PUGLIA. Una meravigliosa stagione fallimentare.
Il trullo di mia madre svetta, imperioso e bellissimo, nel punto in cui la stradina di campagna che vi conduce, giunge ad un bivio.
Anche la Puglia, la mia amatissima regione, si è trovata qualche anno fa dinanzi ad un analogo crocevia: dinanzi a lei ed al suo irresistibile successo, si aprivano due strade, e noi pugliesi abbiamo scelto quella sbagliata.
Abbiamo preferito scimmiottare i briatorismi di ritorno, inseguire la "vippanza", corteggiare un certo turismo di massa di cui siamo rimasti compiaciuti ostaggi, fino a farci colonizzare dall'idea che costoro man mano si andavano facendo di noi, fino a vendere l'anima ad una velenosa mistura di glaumor peloso e di folkore posticcio. È come se l'improvvisa scoperta della nostra terra, il lusinghiero riconoscimento internazionale giunto dopo tanti anni di indebita marginalità, ci avesse trovati increduli di cotanta luce della ribalta, tanto da farci sentire in dovere di assecondare una certa narrazione mainstream che si andava affermando intorno all'hashtag #puglia. Colpevolmente ignari del fatto che l'unica "grazia ricevuta" non fosse l'inatteso ed irresistibile trend, ma solo e soltanto la splendida terra in cui ci era toccato in sorte di nascere.
Mentre ostentavamo le Peroni con focaccia, o i panini col pesce e il mare come screensaver, una parte di noi quasi si vergognava di un certo folklore locale, tanto da doverlo smussare, "internazionalizzare", insomma annacquare un po', nel timore che ci restituisse prima o poi all'atavica subalternità del provincialismo. E così: vai con le rivisitazioni neo-moderniste degli arredi urbani (mai più panchine in legno, quasi fossero un retaggio neoborbonico!), le masserie ed i trulli con linee geometriche, patinate, futuristiche, essenziali, pulite, insomma sobrie e tristi come una cena tra astemi, i centri storici costruiti a tavolino a misura di selfie, con le onnipresenti pigne di Grottaglie a dare quel tocco di tipicità che su Instagram è la morte sua...
La frase "la Puglia è uno stato d'animo" non mi è mai piaciuta.
La Puglia è uno strato (millenario) d'anime, semmai.
I trulli, pomodori appesi, i mille castellli medievali, il barocco di Lecce, gli ori e i due mari di Taranto, le famiglie riunite a fare quintali di "salsa", i panzerotti fritti, le gravine, le doline, le grotte di Castellana, l'Alta Murgia, i casali e le masserie, i taralli, le friselle, il grano senatore Cappelli, i menhir, i tralci di vite arrampicate sugli usci delle case, i muretti a secco, il Primitivo, i ciliegi ed i mandorli in fiore, le chiese rupestri, l'olio extravergine, le cattedrali barocche e romaniche, la foresta umbra... parlano di una civiltà, profumano di cultura, sanno di identità.
In fondo il folklore è cultura in villeggiatura.
Nel mio paese (Castellana Grotte) ti può capitare ormai di incontrare i Maneskin al supermercato ed i Rem in gelateria. Come ha scritto un mio amico, le superstar d'improvviso vengono a ricordarci chi siamo, prendendo in affitto umili dimore (le celeberrime "villeggiature") con il piazzale lastricato a mosaico in pietra di Trani, affollato di "graste" ammassate alla rinfusa per una innaffiatura più agevole, e le lenzuola stese al sole con spavalda disinvoltura.
Insomma la Puglia di cui d'improvviso sembriamo vergognarci.
Ma non ci vergogniamo affatto di spennare chiunque ci capiti a tiro. In una regione già fortemente caratterizzata da un livello mediamente molto basso di operatori turistici e della somministrazione (l'idea dominante è che tali settori non richiedano formazione ma al massimo solo un po' di esperienza sul campo), sin dalle prime gocce di manna turistica piovuta dal cielo, una foltissima schiera di neofiti proprietari di case e locali vista mare, eredi di masserie, o riccanza varia, si é improvvisata imprenditore del turismo, con la lungimiranza ed il know how della banda de "I soliti ignoti".
Abbiamo fatto trend? Facciamo pure trenduno, trendadue, trendatrè...
I miei cugini tedeschi hanno smesso di chiederci consigli. Da bravi europei moderni si affidano alle app per la scelta delle spiagge, degli hotel e persino dei ristoranti. E vengono inesorabilmente, e spesso inconsapevolmente, puniti.
"Perchè non chiedete a noi?"- chiedo disperato.
"Cosa potete fare voi più di una app, che confronta milioni di informazioni, recensioni, e stelline?".
Dove finisce la APP, comincia lA PPuglia vera.
E noi siamo qui APPosta.
Intanto le ciliegie muoiono sugli alberi. Le mandorle parlano cinese, e la xylella ha imparato benissimo il pugliese.
L'estate della mia infanzia, come un'onda che si abbatte sulla battigia, è nata e morta sulle spiagge del Capitolo (Monopoli). Una serie interminabile di calette e spiagge da sogno, con un'acqua così limpida che la studiano al primo anno di Università alle Maldive.
Ostaggio di monopolitani monopolisti, è ormai un centro commerciale a cielo aperto, pieno di "gioiellerie", in cui caffè e cornetto in riva al mare costano quanto una colazione da Tiffany. L'idea di fondo (ma l'Adriatico é un mare poco profondo) è dunque una Rimini 2.0 Premium, col mare limpido (Gallipoli). Ed ovviamente le immancabili pigne di Grottaglie.
Intanto -30% di arrivi quest'anno.
È davvero questo il turismo che vogliamo? E se si, è anche quello che la nostra terra merita?
Le "lenzuola stese" nel centro storico non sanno di provincia dell'Impero.
Sanno di vita, di quotidianità, di sole e di sangue, di partenze e di ritorni, di sugo da girare e di braccia al collo, di pantofole e caramelle, sino a che non le sorprendi ad ondeggiare come spose pudiche corteggiate dal vento.
Dietro il trullo di mia madre sorge la Masseria che fu di mio nonno. Sulle cartine geografiche è segnata come "masseria Cardillo". Perchè "cardill" , ovvero cardellino, era il soprannome del nonno.
Si, in Puglia, terra di Quinto Ennio, "padre della letteratura latina", ogni famiglia ha un soprannome, ci conosciamo tutti, e tra di noi parliamo sempre il dialetto, come fossimo in un film di Checco Zalone.
Fatevene una regione.

Wir sind auf der Suche! Leider kommen uns gerade unser zweiter Gitarrist und unsere Bassistin abhanden und dafür suchen wir Ersatz.
Was wir haben:
- Sänger und Gitarrist (eine Person)
- Schlagzeuger (Das bin ich!)
- Equipment zum Proben (d.h. eine kleine PA)
- Einen unschlagbar guten und günstigen Proberaum!
