Is Captain Pike canonically polyam in Strange New Worlds?
In the episode "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" he sleeps and discuses future plans with an alien lady called Alora while he is in a relationship with Captain Batel. The relationship with Alora ends because of some horrible revelations about her planet, but at no point are the two parallel relationships presented as potential for conflict. It think it's therefore safe to assume that Pike and Batel's relationship does not contradict other, parallel romantic or sexual relationships.
However if Pike is indeed canonically polyam, it's strange that I never found that topic in any discussion about queerness in modern Star Trek.
Batel and Pike's relationship is one of the first things we learn about in Strange New Worlds. In the very first episode we see them sharing breakfast after having shared a bed during the night. The scene implies some routine to this arrangement. Generally when discussing Pike people seem to agree that she is his girlfriend.
Sure, it is possible that their relationship actually is just this one super casual encounter between friends that becomes a romantic relationship later. However, I don't see why this is a more likely explanation than them just not having a problem with each other having other romantic or sexual relationship/encounters.
The show just showing us a polyamorous character would also fit in with how they introduced other queer characters in modern Star Trek. They mostly just are what they are without any discussion or explanation. I belive the only exception to this is Adira Tal in Discovery who has a very undramatic coming out moment with Paul Stamets (when they correct him on their pronouns).

I agree that it _can_ be seen as a polyam relationship, but that's not the way I'm interpreting it. To me, it seems as if it's more of a "friends with benefits" kind of situation in S1, evolving throughout S2 and becoming much more committed in S3.
Now, would I love some polyam representation in Trek? Absolutely. But it seems like The Expanse is where that's gonna stay for now.
The major clue to me was their interaction at the beginning of 1x10. Batel asks him "how have you been holding up", which implies they haven't really talked between 1x01 and 1x10. I'd expect more (subspace comms) interaction in a committed polyam relationship.
And also, she says she's having a "date" with someone, and the way Pike reacts just doesn't _feel_ polyam to me. It's less "interesting, tell me" and more like "yeah sure, go have fun".

In general I would agree with you, but they are also in a setting where subspace communications is not always possible. Maybe they just did not have the opportunity to talk for longer than usual.

That's a good point. I would probably be more like "interesting, tell me" and less like "yeah sure, go have fun", if my partner told me about dating someone else, too. But maybe that's just not their dynamic.
To be honest, I think the two of us might have already been spending more time thinking about this than the writers. It wouldn't be the first time that Star Trek is inconsistent between different episodes, because they have different writer involved.
I guess, I will chose to see Pike and Batel as polyam as a fun head canon for me. I think it can be at least interpreted that way.
Batel: "Well. Much as I love you being mysterious, I've got a date on the far side of the Neutral Zone. [kisses Pike]"
Pike: "Anyone I know?"
Batel: "Not that kind of date, actually."
Pike: "You know, I'm making osso bucco next week, if you're interested."
So, it's not a real date, but Pike doesn't know that when he asks the question. It's just … the way that he asks it is very casual and more like a quip than genuine curiosity.

for much as I do like the story setup for the second part of the new pokemon anime, I have been noticing...a concerning lack of budget, lol. It's not god awful but it's pretty poor right now and has persisted too long to be for "we're saving up for a really good upcoming arc". These are episodes that aren't filler designed to work within budget either, they do a multi pokemon battles pretty much every episode and they're supremely sub par.
I fear they won't get to execute on the good ideas.

I uncovered this native clematis 'virgin's bower' last year removing an overgrown non native boxwood, of which there are way too many. It seemed to be isolated in that location but this year has shown up welcomed yet unexpected in a variety of settings. This is a screenshot of the final position of the chess game I won in 14 moves yesterday. I've taken to playing the King's Gambit a lot when I have the white pieces. I got the opportunity to sac a knight on f7 and then went on a king hunt, finally driving the black king to b6 where I delivered mate with Qb5++. You can see I had a huge lead in development. The only minor piece that black ever moved was its king's knight.
Unsure of how to deal with the news that's dropped today and makes me feel like being out in public will get more dangerous for trans people here in the USA.

Well, I think the verdict is in on my power supply mods. I've been watching it, making sure all is good, and it's been ice cold, near ambient the whole time. So I think it's a win! Okay, yes, it is good for the half-dozen Graphene-supplied apps. But now there's a batch of other stuff: text editors, a language-teaching program, and so forth. All of it without description or details such as whether it is a paid service. Click on anything and you're at the download page which with few exceptions offers no description, just the download button. Which regularly downloads the application. Starting the app sometimes then involves a configuration and registration page, and only after that do you even find out what the damned thing is. Which frequently suggests that the program is some sketchy thing glomming onto the privacy and safety reputation of GrapheneOS. Not a useful thing and not a good look.
@RealNameTBA Absolutely none of that is true. You're wrongly conflating the GrapheneOS App Store with Accrescent. Accrescent is not a GrapheneOS app and is not developed or funded by GrapheneOS. It's not marked as being a GrapheneOS app and is very clearly an entirely separate thing from our App Store. Accrescent is in Alpha and very clearly not what the UI is going to be once it's further along. It will have categorization including based on whether apps are open source. Entirely different app.

Accrescent is in Alpha so the user interface is far from complete including categorization of apps and not a lot of apps are available in it. We've decided not to focus on distributing developer builds of apps since Accrescent is building that already with a good approach. It's going to get a lot better over time, It's quite new and doesn't have a lot of funding yet.
Might want to point that out, in that the app store is assumed by users to be a place where only approved, safe, reliable things are found, and not the alpha version of a distributor of unknown apps.

It's not limited to open source apps but will have filtering to choose to only see those if you want or to check if the app is open source. A proposal has been made for verifying reproducible builds in the future too if you care about that, although the benefits are overstated.
