Havia llegit la versió castellana i quan vaig veure que publicaven la versió catalana, no m'ho vaig pensar ni un minut. És un llibre revelador d'una Catalunya (que a la versió castellana insisteixen a amagar sota d'Aragó*) que no s'ajusta a les idees escampades per la pseudohistòria espanyolista que ens bombardeja cada dia.
La guerra entre el casal de Barcelona, entossudits a crear un espai català a la Mediterrània occidental i els Anjou, una branca de la corona francesa amb la intenció de posar el peu definitivament al Mediterrani per part dels francesos es barregen amb les intrigues papals i de les repúbliques del nord d'Itàlia en un conflicte permanent. Si hagués passat a Anglaterra ja faria segles que tindríem mil noveŀles i peŀlícules derivades d'aquest conflicte.
Però som catalans i Espanya amaga la nostra història.
- La historiografia anglesa utilitza prioritàriament Corona d'Aragó, que reconeix, és nomenclatura construïda a posteriori dels fets ocorreguts. De totes maneres, el mateix Abulafia accepta les nomenclatures tradicionals de la historiografia catalana de fer servir Corona catalanoaragonesa, més moderna, però igualment acceptable. Dona gust que no t'escupin a la cara com solen fer els Cataluña-nunca-fue-reyno.
