This is absolutely true. But local officials have also told people not to protest ICE or other federal forces, and I don’t think that’s the right answer either. It’s not possible to behave so perfectly that the abusers will change their mind and leave the city.
It doesn't actually matter whether the left fights or rolls over and plays dead. The left does a peaceful protest? They call it left wing violence. A right wing asshole shoots people, they call it left wing violence. People look funny at a soldier, they call it left wing violence.
