I'm all for shaming people for blocking others that they simply don't agree with. If someone is spouting harmful vitriol and you don't want to platform them, or of course if they're specifically targeting you, then sure. But it's really time we separated that from "muh safe space" rubbish.
There's a reason safe spaces have been purged with great prejudice from psychosocial best practices, and their normalization among liberals has done a lot of damage to the worldliness that should (and used to) come with being online.

Playing monster chase with kid at the park. I'm amused and pleased with how many littles see me and ask if they can play too.
I always have to be a bit cautious, being an older bearded male playing with kids, even my own. It's never been an issue, but I'm always aware of the optics.
Apparently, I'm just a compelling lava monster the littles really like to power blast or freeze ray when we play.

honestly, any time little kids see a grown up actively playing with a kid, it attracts *ALL* of them.
I take my kid to the trampoline park and play all kinds of loud active games, and I attract little kids like the pied piper. All the other parents are parked around the perimeter staring at their phones…
I think the kids just want adult attention, and will run to whatever adult gives it, no matter how safe or unsafe they look.
