The numbers for our tourism industry are trickling in, and regions are reporting a boom in revenue for the past few months. Canada’s tourism sector generated a record-breaking amount of revenue between May and August, reaching $59 billion, revenue from international travelers was up 10%, and hotel bookings across Canada were the highest since 2014.
Meanwhile, stats on Canadians traveling to the U.S. show the 6th consecutive month of decline with a 34% drop year-over-year in August. The Danish govt has told reporters that they plan to drop the Commission's proposed "Detection Orders" (mandates requiring chat and email providers to scan people's private communications, even if it breaks end-to-end encryption), due to a lack of political support.
Having previously been fierce proponents of encryption-breaking mass scanning, this is a big change from Denmark.
However, it DOESN'T mean....

But it's a strong sign that EU governments increasingly realise they cannot force through the end of private digital communications!

Esta tecnología, basada en estándares como FIDO2/WebAuthn, almacena la clave criptográfica de forma segura en el dispositivo, garantizando que el proceso de restauración sea tan simple como un toque o un vistazo, manteniendo el mismo nivel robusto de protección de extremo a extremo.
IMPORTANTE – Esta función se implementará de forma gradual en las próximas semanas y meses. Para comenzar, ve a Ajustes > Chats > Copia de seguridad > Copia de seguridad cifrada de extremo a extremo.
La función está siendo implementada de forma gradual para todos los usuarios de iOS y Android. Para activarla, los usuarios deben navegar en la aplicación a la sección Ajustes > Chats > Copia de seguridad > Copia de seguridad cifrada de extremo a extremo y seguir los pasos para asociar una Passkey, eliminando la dependencia de las contraseñas tradicionales.
