Idaho legislative committee proposes SCOTUS case to revoke Gay marriage protections.
This has been cooking since Dobbs, when one of the Injustices mentioned ending the right to marriage and even sodomy recrim as cases that would be seen similarily by SCOTUS. After the public reacted with horror to a mid-2022 wave of hate, things slowed down but now have started up again.
Revoking marriage rights will lead to lawsuits. Raiding Gay clubs and cruising areas to enforce sodomy laws will lead to likely lead to some rather heavy physical resistance. That goes double if new sodomy laws tack on "sex offender' registration for this new category as well as prison time.
As for me, I would not be willing to submit to Christian nationalist law on sexuality under any circumstances, not even if "sodomy" were made a capital offense like what US preachers are pushing in Africa. Millions no doubt share my position on this.
