The graduate premium in employment for English university students is shrinking, at the same time that the costs of university have been rising (even if the fees themselves have remained capped for some years).... but when we look at the return to investment across (some) subjects we also see significant variation.
Given its costs its no wonder student worry about the employment/salary benefits, which sadly means the humanistic case for higher education gets lost in the 'noise'
and have you seen the discussion of their working conditions.... its a tough job both mentally & physically; and even at that level of remuneration there seems to be a recruitment shortfall

Solid is sort of a weird choice. There's no reason to separate apps and data unless you are overwhelmingly concerned about allowing corporations to still have proprietary control over your apps. And if you don't control the apps, you can't be sure they aren't misusing your data anyways.
I like to see it from the other way around - the data belongs to the user in the first place (not the app). So they should have agency to do whatever they want with it, including granting or withdrawing consent from specific apps. Beyond sensitive data, trivial things like say the background on my desktop. It would be better if I can carry it around, let apps/OS/whatever read my preferences, or optionally grant permission for one of them to change my wallpaper etc.
@ocdtrekkie Another reason high on my list, is that with a solid-like approach, apps don't need to default into enrolling me for iCloud or other "silos" to keep my data, it's already taken care of for them.
Why wouldn't you want to also own the app? If you can't control the app, your control over your data is an illusion.
There are open source apps you can control that do everything you need to. And if you can control your own apps, there's no reason to separate apps and data on separate servers.
Ergo, the design of Solid is to enable businesses to run proprietary apps, not to protect you and your data.
On the contrary, if the app is on my server, I don't have to trust it. I *control* it. Which is better. And I can sandbox where that app can talk to. No trust needed.

Chiedere a zia Luisa, tramite referendum, se vuole abrogare il comma 4 dell'art 26 del D.Lgs 81/08 (che, tra l'altro, é una puttxxnxta colossale pensata da chi non ci capisce molto dell'argomento) vuol dire voler distruggere l'istituzione referendaria.
@SteBoc non ho capito se vuoi togliere il diritto di voto a zia Luisa perché non capisce un tubo lei o vuoi abolire i referendum perché non ci capiscono niente gli italiani. In ogni caso se un referendum propone stupidaggini basta votare per non implementarle.
Il diritto di voto di zia Luisa é sacrosanto x scegliere persone informate e capaci per prendere decisioni importanti anche per conto suo. Si chiama democrazia rappresentativa. I referendum servono per temi d'opinione come nucleare, aborto, ecc. Nel referendum sul nucleare non chiedevano di scegliere tra una tecnologia di reattore o l'altra.

Mentre per il N4, essendo argomento del mio lavoro, non ci ho messo molto a decidere. Per gli altri mi riservo un po' di tempo (x quel che conta, è un referendum nato morto). Così come dimostra la "pubblicità" su "si" per migliorare la sic. sul lavoro del 4 quesito, non posso fidarmi di chi mi da consigli. Non ho problemi a rendere pubbliche le mie intenzioni, ad oggi, senza approfondire, 1 SI, 2 NO, 3 SI grosso, 4 assolutamente NO, 5 assolutamente SI. Sono troppo conservatore per lei?
@SteBoc ma no, per carità, va benissimo pensarla diversamente, basta che le idee vincano nelle urne a maggioranza e non fuori dalle urne boicottando i referendum con una minoranza di astenuti che fa saltare il quorum, che è quello che sta cercando di ottenere la seconda carica dello stato.
