Le 14 mai 2025, les Gardien·ne·s du territoire de plusieurs nations autochtones ont annoncé la formation de l’Alliance MAMO – Première Nation, un front commun contre le Projet de Loi 97, qui remettrait la forêt publique entre les mains des compagnies forestières.
L’Alliance MAMO s’oppose non seulement à la réforme du régime forestier de la CAQ, mais aussi à tous les projets de développement extractif sur les territoires ancestraux jamais conquis ni cédés.
Ce mouvement est né lors d’une assemblée tenue à La Tuque le 11 avril, réunissant des délégué·e·s de Nehirowisiw Aski (Atikamekw), de Nitassinan (Innu) et de Ndakina (Abénaki).
Les participant·e·s ont dénoncé les menaces pesant sur le caribou, la biodiversité, et le mode de vie autochtone, en pleine crise climatique.

**May 14, 2025 — Land defenders from several Indigenous nations have come together to form the new MAMO First Nation Alliance, a united front against Bill 97, Quebec’s forestry reform that would hand public forests over to logging companies.
The MAMO Alliance rejects not only Bill 97, but also all extractive development on ancestral lands that have never been ceded or conquered.
The alliance was formed after an assembly held in La Tuque on April 11, bringing together delegates from Nehirowisiw Aski (Atikamekw), Nitassinan (Innu), and Ndakina (Abenaki) territories.
Participants warned of the threats to caribou, biodiversity, and Indigenous traditional life in the midst of the climate crisis.
