I was looking at where the train went after Zaječar, and one option is Prahovo, a town on a bluff above the Danube.

I really appreciate their dedication to not having any square grid in their streets. As far as I can tell they aren't any older than any other town in the area, so it's just some local decision to not bother with the idea of rectilinear blocks.

The Serbian wikipedia page on them informs us that the river nearby is full of sunken German ships full of bombs, a hazard to navigation.

More photos from my visit to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge last week. When I went down I was primarily looking for migratory shorebirds, like the Caspian Tern from the prior post, but there were plenty of others.

I typically get down to the Refuge once or twice a year, but this was the first time I'd arrived at low tide and stayed long enough for the tide to come all the way in. It's fascinating watching the little pools in the mud flat grow and connect until, before you realize it, it's no longer a mud flat, it's a little bay.

The Supreme Court does NOT decide whether the Trump administration can remove migrants under the Alien Enemies Act, but holds that its efforts to do so violate due process. It instructs the lower courts to decide exactly what deportation procedures *would* comply with the Constitution.
