All wars are evil, and we should do everything possible to avoid having to fight them; but the longer a war drags on the more evil it gets. If Europe had poured all its available forces into #Crimea in 2014, the #UkraineInvasion would be a footnote in history with not a shot fired.

Türk dringt er bij alle partijen op aan, inclusief derde landen met directe invloed, de aanvallen te staken. "We moeten de klok stilzetten wat betreft deze waanzin", zei hij.
"Ziekenhuizen worden te allen tijde beschermd - en zijn in tijden van oorlog des te onmisbaarder", zei hij. "Het doden van patiënten of mensen die hun gewonde of zieke dierbaren bezoeken, of van hulpverleners of andere burgers die gewoon een schuilplaats zoeken, is even tragisch als afschuwelijk.
