I think your 'spandex warriors' are pretty much the same sort as the toxically masculine drivers I saw in such abundance around Pittsburgh (they're everywhere, but highly concentrated in Pittsburgh).
I mean, seriously, what does setting a land speed record on the Golden Gate Bridge accomplish? Does it give them bragging rights? Who cares? And why do they care?
