Tarnished by Oct. 7, Netanyahu’s legacy may be reshaped by war with Iran
TEL AVIV, Israel (AP)
Now, as Israel faces another unprecedented crisis in a war with Iran, Netanyahu appears rejuvenated. With the U.S. lending its support against a threat he has devoted his life to confronting, Netanyahu is demonstrating a resurgent confidence that could signal a new turning point in his lengthy political career.Even as Iranian missiles pound Israeli cities, Netanyahu, 75, has the chance to salvage his sagging political fortunes and reshape a legacy punctured by Hamas’ attacks, a corruption trial and a history of divisive rule. If he succeeds, it will cement his reputation within Israel as a political wizard who can rise from the ashes.

Funder, Pilot, Survivor, Physician: Inside the Network Assisting Abortion Journeys
Three years ago, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority enabled states to severely restrict abortion or ban it outright. Since then, 17 states have enacted such limits; infant and maternal mortality have risen in many of them.
But the impact of overturning Roe v. Wade extends far beyond medical catastrophes. It also appears in the quieter struggles—a myriad of small, compounding barriers that stand between individuals and their access to health care.
Nine million women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States now live more than 200 miles from the nearest abortion clinic. Census data analyzed by Middlebury economics professor and data expert Caitlin Myers shows that people in two states—Texas and Louisiana—are, on average, more than 400 miles away from clinical abortion care. When faced with an unexpected, unwanted, or medically complicated pregnancy, they’re forced to navigate not just highways and airports, but the tricky algorithms of daily survival: How to miss work without losing their jobs; who will watch their children while they’re away; how they’ll afford the trip—and where they can stay overnight to recover or wait out a state-mandated waiting period between an initial appointment and their abortion.
The Guttmacher Institute estimates that at least 324,700 people have left their states for abortions since the Dobbs ruling. In 2023, those people accounted for roughly one in six overall abortions in the states that allow them.
But there is at least one ray of light, a broad and determined network of abortion advocates—doctors, drivers, hotline volunteers, and even pilots who have stepped up to help. These humanitarians are not only assisting with travel and logistics, they’re showing up for desperate strangers navigating a system that hasn’t made abortion impossible, but has made it more challenging.
Abortion foes disparage these interstate quests for reproductive care as “abortion tourism,” an excuse to spend a long weekend by a hotel pool. But they are more akin to medical refugeeism—a journey of anxiety and cramping, not beaches and rollercoasters. “In an ideal world, people would just be able to get their abortion care in their community,” says Alisha Dingus, executive director of the DC Abortion Fund. But we’re obviously not in an ideal world. “In the short term,” says Dingus, one of nine people who share their experiences with abortion access below, “I hope that the abortion access movement can make navigating this easier.”
The Pilot
“The vast majority who fly with us have never been on an airplane before.”
The International Provider
After the procedure, we provide a survey. “You saved my life,” they write.
The Traveling Doctor
“They are scared about their situations, but they are also scared to obtain care where they live.”
The Conductor
“I worry about new barriers to abortion.”
The Patient
“When the test came back positive, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to get an abortion in Texas.”
The Good Listener
“I do this because I’ve been where you are.”
The Alternative
“The biggest challenge we face is about our perceived legitimacy.”
The Survivor
“I went in for my routine check-up and her heartbeat was gone.”
The Funder
“Access should not be defined by your zip code.”

One more example that Elizabeth Warren should run for President
Elizabeth Warren posted the following on Gaza, Netanyahu, and Israel, on 6/21.
"Israel's Prime Minister may think no one will notice what he's doing in Gaza while he bombs Iran.
People face starvation. 55,000 killed. Aid workers and doctors turned away at the border. Shooting at innocent people desperate for food.
The world sees you, Benjamin Netanyahu.”

The Israeli-US military strike on Iran's Fordow nuclear facility marks a significant escalation in the confrontation between Washington and Tehran, potentially leading to a broader regional or global conflict.
The incident reveals a deeper ideological battle between the US and Iran, with Washington targeting Iranian sovereignty and independence, and Tehran standing as a civilizational alternative to Western hegemony.
Again LGTBIQ+ is not a culture, is not a moral "compass", neither moral rules.
I have to remind you that we were persecuted by the Nazis with almost more virulence than the Jews.
That even today there are countries where we are executed? Or we are persecuted, like Russia and China, which are super Western. 😒
The LGTBQ+ rights were a product of the fights of trans people. In the 1930's for example there were less rejection against us, that changed with the nazis. And
I was not talking about that.
LGTBIQ+ people is even recognized as valuable members of the Indian American tribes (maybe not for all the right reasons...). And we were present even in Chalomagne times. He was gay.
We ARE NOT VALUES, we ARE PEOPLE like you or anyone else.
I stop this going backwards and forwards, because you do not know what you are talking about.
You didnt even spell it right or fully. 😒
