Proposal to Sell Gaza Land Via Crypto Tokens Met With Backlash
The Tony Blair Institute helped form a plan that proposed selling land in Gaza via blockchain tokens, the Financial Times reported Monday, after paying Palestinians to leave their land. The tokenization project would have also seen the region rebuilt with Dubai-style artificial islands and “blockchain-trade initiatives,” complete with Elon Musk and Donald Trump-themed areas.
A slide deck titled the “Great Trust” was developed by the Boston Consulting Group, or BCG, the FT reported on Sunday, with participation from two staff members from the Tony Blair Institute—an organization founded by the former UK prime minister. It was shared with the Trump administration, according to the FT, which echoed similar sentiments in February.
The deck suggested paying half a million Palestinians to leave Gaza to attract private investors to redevelop the area, following Israel’s bombings. It proposed that the public land in Gaza be put into a trust and sold via “digital tokens traded on a blockchain.” Gazans could add their private land into the trust in return for a token that would give them the right to a housing unit.

11 years ago we were down at the Boulder County Courthouse signing a marriage certificate while the state-by-state battle for marriage equality played out.
Thanks to a rogue county clerk, hundreds of LGBTQIA+ couples were able to get married, while the issue played out in the 10th circuit Court, and the Boulder county clerk herself faced lawsuits and attempts to remove her from office.
after a few months of back and forth the governor at the time, hickenlooper, finally decided that Colorado be a state of marriage equality. almost a year later, just a few weeks before first anniversary, marriage equality was passed nationwide.
while it's hard to find the spirit to celebrate with everything going on in the world right now, it is also more important than ever to be visibly, loudly, and proudly queer.

Tomorrow, July 9th, is the one year anniversary of having to let my dog Baxter go. I have never had a stronger bond with anyone, even among all the people in my life who have passed on.
I cried all morning yesterday. I loved that boy with all my heart from his rescue at six weeks old to his departure at six years old. I know that you all know the weight of loss, the way it feels like it's stuck in your throat. It never goes away. It becomes a part of us that we don't even notice at times, but at other times we are keenly aware of.
