That moral system is enforced by everyone. They jealously defend themselves from others taking control of the decision-making power, over people were over resources.

I am currently reading through a book called “hierarchy in the forest” by Boehm.
They have a very clear definition of egalitarianism and a very clear analysis of house societies jealously defend power flowing upwards (egalitarianism).
Furthermore, they go on to say there are material conditions that favor egalitarianism or hierarchy, equality or hierarchy.

Admittedly, Weber attributed this to capitalism, but the logic of his argument applies to *any* market system.
The only way to avoid it is to start with a perfectly level playing field and somehow--impossibly--to keep that field level.
Economics that works, then, applies the maxim from the Communist Manifesto: To each according to their need, from each according to their ability.

The second thing to realize about this is, he’s organizing people to assert their decision-making power over their lives again.
Cultural anthropologist to study social structure, define egalitarianism and equality as power flowing up hierarchy.
Dominance hierarchies the power flows down. The champ or gorilla at the top of the hierarchy bullies everybody else.
I’m saying this because to point out that it’s not capitalism.
