this was outstanding and right. With just one listen, which is unfair since this is a very rich narrative, I see some hard parallels to Altadena in the recent LA fires.
While I know who we care about, when we care, and why we care, is essentially owned by our commercial media, and their bias points are clear, it's still shocking every time to see real world examples. Examples of how far apart the experience on the ground is when compared to the presentation in what is supposed to be objective news.
Any time I think it's exhausting to do the extra work to close some gap or right some wrong, I just think about how I would feel if my entire community was destroyed and no one gave a shit because it wasn't reported because corporate media doesn't think the people living there are actually people.
To me, that's what this is about. *Only certain types of people are people*, and only those people will be reported on or highlighted or reeled or whatever they do these days on the news.
And that is unacceptable and nothing will change my mind about that.
I think it depends on the type of national disaster.

No. It was a damn 2.6 quake in Berkeley that even people living on top of the epicenter didn't wake up for.

e l'altra differenza rilevante è che anziché attraversare il piattume padano abbiamo attraversato la Svizzera (facendo tunnel e non passi, ma ridendo e scherzando e imprecando un po' contro il traffico si è arrivati ai 1600 m slm) e la Francia (che invece è diversamente piana)
