It's not taught in history, but if you go look or listen to certain economic historians, you will find out that FDR was in supported by three political parties and the labor unions.
Two of those political parties were socialist and the third one was communist.
Those kind of political parties were stamped out of existence by McCarthyism

It would actually be very interesting to dredge up the editorials, particularly of people like Henry Ford, who is the most remarkable antisemite.
He and Hitler had a mutual admiration club going on. Contemporary New York Times papers suggested that in the midst of hyper inflation and economic crisis. Hitler enjoyed the most luxurious of offices and ample resources to hold rallies.
