You wait until they're leaving and do this stuff in the parking lot, or you follow them home and do it in their driveway or apartment parking lot. Crowded place full of kids? Seriously?

in reply to Milcom Miasma • • •I worked with a lot of ex-cops when I was a private investigator. We never arrested anyone (only cops can do that). But we did have to tell a lot people they'd been fired, and get their laptops from them. You ALWAYS do this in the parking lot, away from everyone else.
Common these days for cops to carry 9mm pistols. A 9mm slug will go right through an apartment or townhouse wall to the next unit. And we know cops will open fire even when the arrestee is unarmed.
So dumb.

in reply to Professor_Stevens • • •I realize it's anecdotal but in clip after clip I watch U.S. cops being nothing but belligerent in their attempts to escalate a situation to violence or gun play. Meanwhile I see European and Asian law enforcement doing everything they can to diffuse a violent or potentially deadly altercation.
As for the bullet over-penetration, I think it's a result of the police philosophy regarding "stopping power" of a bullet. To U.S. police, greater lethality is somehow better. 🤷♂️
