Result? Blinking cursor at boot.

Luckily I know my way around Linux. Hit Ctrl+Alt+F2 to drop into a TTY, logged in, and ran:

sudo dpkg –configure -a

But if you’re not comfortable in Linux, this fix is anything but obvious.
