While we were EU members we were one of the countries that pushed for more robust measures to identify non-Europeans crossing borders.... many years later the new European Entry System is about to be brought in, but now of course (post-Brexit) we're on the other side.
In a small way, this is a metaphor for immigration policies... too often we fail to realise that at the moment we may be a destination for migrants. but what happens when things reverse?
