The shutdown game is all about public perception played out in the media, not reality.
Dems *should* use every means available to block every possible GOP initiative. By and large, though, the public won't know or care that any of that is going on, no matter how many press conferences Dems hold or how many times Dems tweet.
Dems need headlines that say "Republicans Provoke Shutdown" not "Congress Shuts Down Government."

Charging past 80%.
If I was, for instance, tethering on a train ride and I wanted my phone to be as charged as possible when I arrived for the day ahead, I often couldn’t get it to go past 80% — over a cable, not wireless! — without using a ridiculous thermoelectric-fan-cooling setup.
