Todos somos Peinado
Ni una semana sin su distopía. Comulgar con la instrucción que el juez Peinado ha desplegado para tumbar a la mujer de Pedro Sánchez es tendencia entre algunos jueces, tanto que más de uno podría hacer suyo el lema "Todos somos Peinado". “Llegados a este punto tan bochornoso, el juez Peinado y la sección 23 de la Audiencia de Madrid, que son otros tres Peinados encargados de resolver los recursos de la acusación y de marcar el camino para que tenga éxito en su cruzada, ya han demostrado que desprestigiar la justicia es solo un efecto colateral sin consecuencias cuando está en juego cargarse al Gobierno legítimo de Pedro Sánchez”, dice un reputado jurista.
Un ‘a mí, la legión’ gritaron las fuerzas vivas de Madrid tras enviar la jueza Rodríguez-Medel al novio de Ayuso al banquillo de lo penal la semana pasada. Y los legionarios acudieron en su ayuda. De ahí, el coreografiado anuncio de la posible apertura de juicio popular a Begoña Gómez y el de la Audiencia de Badajoz de confirmar el procesamiento del hermano de Sánchez justo durante la Sesión de Control al Gobierno en el Congreso. La respuesta tenía que ser contundente. No hay pudor ni necesidad de ocultar las intenciones. Al contrario.
Cuando Peinado comenzó la caza de Begoña Gómez, o la jueza Biedma la de David Sánchez o el Supremo la emprendió contra el Fiscal General del Estado en una inaudita defensa del novio de Ayuso, a los expertos les parecía imposible que la cosa progresara, lo consideraban disparates con poco recorrido. Quizá no tuvieron en cuenta el corporativismo o la radicalización de un estamento que se sabe intocable. El aura de imparcialidad que había tratado de mantener la judicatura ha volado por los aires. Nadie, sea de derechas o de izquierdas, duda del predominante papel político que un puñado de jueces están desempeñando convencidos de que su deber es facilitar que PP y Vox ocupen La Moncloa.
Quienes les aplauden y justifican que hay que echar a Sánchez con los métodos que sean, alientan actuaciones que socavan la confianza en la justicia. Los demás contemplamos horrorizados el empeño por que acaben en juicio instrucciones difícilmente sostenibles. Abierta la veda, nadie está libre de que le suceda lo mismo, demostrado ya que el silencio cómplice de la judicatura ampara para emprender causas por muy estrambóticas que sean.
“Ganar un recurso ante la Audiencia es muy complicado. El sesgo corporativo inicial es tratar de salvar la decisión recurrida del compañero. En causas tan mediáticas y políticas como estas, olvídate. No quieren estigmatizar en público a un colega. Sobre todo cuando saben que no hay consecuencias porque existe cero riesgo de responder disciplinariamente”, explica otro jurista que señala a Ricardo Conde, Promotor de Acción Disciplinaria en el CGPJ, exasesor del ministro del PP Rafael Catalá, como uno de los grandes expertos en archivar diligencias contra sus colegas jueces en lugar de investigarlas.
No veas las prisas con las que quiso archivar la investigación contra el juez Eloy Velasco sobre su despectivas palabras sobre Irene Montero o la del juez Carlos del Valle cuando en su interrogatorio a Quequé le animó a volar la plaza Pedro Zerolo. Fue tan escandaloso que hasta el CGPJ le pidió un poco de disimulo antes de darle carpetazo. Claro que la doctrina que Conde se ha sacado de la manga es que cuando los jueces ponen a parir al Gobierno en redes o en conferencias lo hacen como ciudadanos. Así que vía libre para ser como Peinado.

I want to emphasize that Fahrenthold undertook the most cursory of investigations and immediately discovered that the Trump Foundation was a giant grift, theft on the scale of tens of millions of dollars for decades.
No one went to prison for these crimes.

Yes, I believe so (I think David Lange said something to the effect that even drug dealers pay GST?).
But GST is also regressive - poor people pay more, as a proportion of their income and wealth, which is a really negative outcome. So we probably need to put more effort into making progressive taxes unavoidable, rather than just lazily increasing GST.
