Wings of the Nile
You know, I’ve only been drawn to birds and photography for a few years—three, to be exact. Just a couple of lifetimes ago, the only goose I paid attention to was Grey Goose (potio fortis). No addiction, just a ritual of quiet relaxation.
But times change. Life moves forward—so far, at least. These days, this is how I unwind: watching, witnessing, and capturing flight.
The image shows an Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) I spotted flying over Texas—a graceful transplant from sub-Saharan Africa. A sovereign in motion, far from its ancestral wetlands, now gliding through southern skies like a mythic courier.
