American tax payers will now pay for a hospital ship which will be sent to Greenland, Trump claims on Truth Social.

Let me rephrase that: The US, which does not offer free healthcare to its own people, wants it's own people to offer free healthcare… to Greenland… which already has free healthcare.

Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US president.

in reply to Randahl Fink

my guess is neither TACO nor Whiskey-Pete thought about that. it's just the old and boring "hej, look - a squirrel!"-game.
in reply to Randahl Fink

@mc 🤣 🤣 this is terrific.

@mc for me it shows 10 seconds of the trailer of Happy Madison production saying "terrific" in exactly the tone that popped up in my head reading this farce. If it does something other for you i am sorry.

Both the Gulf of Tonkin incidence and the USS Maine immediately leap to mind. I'm suspicious.
in reply to Randahl Fink

@rjohnston IMO a mix between being actually really stupid and sabre rattling. Nobody knows what's going on in the orange head.

I didn't really know much about this, for anyone else who wants to read up on this too:

in reply to Randahl Fink

It's just such a bizarre proposal. And I've never heard of an ice-reinforced hospital ship from Louisiana. Damage seems inevitable.
in reply to Randahl Fink

maybe they should send the ship where it's most needed. How about Louisiana?
in reply to Randahl Fink

He's sending USNS Epstein. It will contain the sickest files, photos and videos.
in reply to Randahl Fink

I think that is for our troops that invade should a polar bear attack then
in reply to Randahl Fink

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a dumb fuck he is 🤦🏼‍♀️
in reply to Randahl Fink

Trump said previously that they did one and didn't find anything. 🤣 🤣 First honest thing I've ever heard him say.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Look at the Tuskegee experiments and ask yourself if he truly wants to help anyone. He probably is hoping to kill them so it's easier to take over.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Not only another brain scan, X-Rays, a CT scan, a PET scan and a complete psychological exam.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Donald Trump ignores the vastly destructive problems he creates. As a fantasist, he prefers to invent problems that don't exist, so he can confidently and easily fix them.

So it is with saying he will send a hospital ship to Greenland, to care for the sick, something Greenland's universal healthcare system already does.

Meanwhile, Trump deprives his own people of health care and insurance, and destroys their public health infrastructure. The man is an obscenity.

in reply to Randahl Fink

He's actually teasing sending a 'free candy' van to try tricking a whole-ass country into it?
And creating a false story, as always, this time about 'many sick people', that he'll spin to splatter more bullshit over what's real anymore.
Ugh.
in reply to Randahl Fink

there is no hospital boat to greenland. There's just one boat, operated by canada.
in reply to Randahl Fink

did they find something in the previous scans?
I mean a brainy something
in reply to Randahl Fink

here's another absurd story:

reuters.com/world/denmarks-joi…

"Denmark's Joint Arctic Command said on Saturday it had evacuated a crew member who required urgent medical treatment from a U.S. submarine in Greenlandic waters, seven nautical miles outside of Greenland's capital Nuuk."

"WE ARE GOING TO INVADE! WE ARE THE TERROR!"

"ooh very scary! i'm proud of you, nice performance. but just pipe down now, it seems you need some help. let me get you a nice ride and a blanket"

Jeff Landry is the governor of one of the poorest states in the union. We're also the sickest but he thinks it's cool to give free healthcare to another country? #louisiana you #voted for this?
in reply to Randahl Fink

No it's a bullshit statement and the reason he wants a hospital ship there is to create fear of a war

Hugz & xXx

in reply to Randahl Fink

It's just random shit to take up bandwidth while Epstein hits and they finish stealing all the US taxpayer's cash.
in reply to Randahl Fink

The American people who are sick must absolutely love hearing that! 🤔
in reply to Randahl Fink

Maybe the Danish navy could return the favor by sending a ship to Louisiana?

I just realized that it's entirely possible that oragnie confused countries again. Could be any, Cuba, Venezuela or any other he's trying to dictate over.
in reply to Randahl Fink

That's absolutely insane.

And this country ABSOLUTELY provides no healthcare for most of its population. What is the admin trying to do — persuade Greenlanders that it does?

Or do you mean:
Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US VOTERS
?
in reply to Randahl Fink

be aware that #tax dollars financing a government like the US is a wide spread misconception about how fiat money (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_mon…) works. They do not use tax dollars for this otherwise ludicrous propaganda shit show 🤪.

I am wondering who is not being taken care of there. What is the #healthcare system like on #Greenland? No doubt it’s better than what #US citizens have.

@markus_falk
Well yeah, but try to fund a well sized government only by printing money. Hello inflation.

If you want more expeditionary hospital ships, one way or another you'll have to tax more.

@randahl

in reply to notsoloud

@notsoloud @markus_falk
and this is what trump wants to do, once he ousts Powell from the Federal Reserve.

Inflation is a sort of tax (a regressive tax that hits mostly the poorer workers)

in reply to Randahl Fink

If USA/Louisiana send a hospital ship to Greenland, the EU should send one to Louisiana in return.

If we're lucky, it starts a new race among all the major blocks about who could provide the best health care for each others citizens.

It is of course less efficient than land based hospitals, but still a huge step forward from a classical arms race.

in reply to Randahl Fink

I propose that Denmark send multiple hospital ships to the US instead. They need it more.
in reply to Randahl Fink

@nuintari Well he didn’t say that the sick people not being taken care of are Greenlanders. Just that they’re not being taken care of **there** (Greenland). Maybe his plan is just sending USAians there?
in reply to Randahl Fink

The problem is that some people who read what he writes simply believe it and think it's great without questioning it...

in reply to Randahl Fink

Who are the many people sick in Greenland? Did I miss something? The measles epidemic is in the USA, not in Greenland. And I bet Greenlanders are vaccinated anyway.
Tell him to send the ship to South Carolina to do massive vaccination, they need it!

Blatant propaganda, the only reason he writes this is to push the narrative that people of Greenland can't live without the US.
in reply to Randahl Fink

This is so confusing. Why send a hospital ship to Greenland? I just want everyone to be healthy and happy, no matter where they live.
in reply to Randahl Fink

at least that sounds well intentioned. American tax payers are already paying for a genocide in Gaza and a siege in Cuba that may also end in genocide. So paying for a hospital ship sounds decent, even if it's unnecessary or a false flag
in reply to Randahl Fink

He did not say anything about "free". If there's a hospital boat in the port of Nuuk that offers services at US hospital rates, it will probably not attract large crowds.
in reply to Randahl Fink

mastodon.social/@randahl/11611…
It may be a Trojan horse. Next thing we know there are lots of little green men without identification or batches but heavily armed running around in Greenland, telling the population to stay indoors or get shot.

in reply to Randahl Fink

I have a hard time understanding the intended audience and desired effect for that particular tweet on that channel.

His MAGA base? The American public without free healthcare? Greenlanders with free healthcare? The remaining European public with free healthcare?

in reply to Randahl Fink

Not entirely stupid.

Healthcare in Greenland is:

• ✅ Good and dependable for everyday medical needs and emergencies
• ✅ Well-organized given the extreme conditions
• ⚠️ Not comparable to large European countries for specialist or high-tech care
• ⚠️ Heavily dependent on evacuation to Denmark for complex treatment

in reply to Randahl Fink

He knows they don't need it. He trusts that his moronic followers don't.

Also, Denmark won a speed skating medal! Glad you guys were so fast in taking my advice!

in reply to Randahl Fink

Fun fact: both hospital ships are currently under maintenance. It is not possible to send these to Greenland.

I am not aware of a hospital icebreaker existing anywhere in the world.

Besides that the US has only veryvery few arctic-capable ships anyway, none of them even remotely resembling a hospital ship. It has a reason why Greenland's/Denmark's marine mostly consists of coast patrol sized boats: ever tried evading the many icebergs around Greenland with a bigger ship?

(Edit : sentence had double parts had have)

in reply to Randahl Fink

Greenland has free healthcare already? Why send a ship then? This is so confusing and kinda silly. Leaders should focus on their own people first!
in reply to Randahl Fink

I wonder what the people of Greenland think when they see this...
in reply to Randahl Fink

Maybe he meant "love boat", after he's seen the series during the night on TV. If you think I'm silly, compare the silliness with the original message - I can't win, I know it
in reply to Randahl Fink

it’s probably trump’s attempt at a trojan horse, it can’t be just plain stupidity, right
in reply to Randahl Fink

Considering the State of American health care in general, and the stupidity of the health care practice promoted by Kennedy in detail, would it then be possible to prosecute the ship and its doctors as quacks or snake oil salesmen after the local laws in Greenland and/or Denmark? 😂
in reply to Randahl Fink

Doesn't look like it. vesselfinder.com/?imo=7390454 and vesselfinder.com/?imo=7390478 . Seem to be docked or moored. At full speed they would be there in 8days, but time to activate ist 5 days. But i can't find any reoports for this. If they would leave dock or mooring, the ship spotters would be all over it.
Questa voce è stata modificata (3 giorni fa)
in reply to Randahl Fink

no, it's time for brain removal.

If I was Greenland, I would refuse them at all ports and tell them to go the fuck home before they torpedo it or strafe it like Venezuelan boats.

in reply to Randahl Fink

Somebody must have just told him the story of the Trojan horse. He thinks he’s being brilliant.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Do we know the name of the ship? Would it hapen to be "Delay. Deny. Defend."
in reply to Randahl Fink

so the US has two hospital ships the USNS Mercy and the Comfort both with about 1000 Beds all told. This is 10 times the capacity of Greenland's own hospital facilities.

For a lot of maladies Greenland's people are sent to mainland Denmark far away from friends and relatives and referred to the Rigshospitalet.

So while, for US citizens picking up the bill, this might seem questionable, as a hearts and minds exercise it may not be that stupid.

I guess the real question is, what happens when the orange one gets bored or offended or starts a war with a country with some military capability. Will Denmark suddenly find itself having to ship 1K patients back to Europe?

in reply to Randahl Fink

but since it is "free" it doesn't cost Felon 47 a penny, so why not help those, who absolutely don't need it? 🤡
in reply to Randahl Fink

gcaptain.com/trump-announces-g… Both of the Navy's hospital ships are in dry dock and will be for at least the next several months. He didn't even bother to check if our hospital ships were available to deploy before lying.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Maybe you should think about the strategy behind this. It's obvious there is more to this. Maybe he's preparing for US soldiers being wounded. Or somebody b ing hurt. Maybe the hospital is a rude and will be filled with soldiers. Think a few steps ahead
in reply to Randahl Fink

I just read the two hospital boats we have are in dry dock for repairs and that there was a US sub off the coast of Greenland that had a medical emergency for a sailor that the Danish navy rescued and took to a hospital. It seems Trump is confused by this.
in reply to Randahl Fink

Who said it would be free? This is trump you're talking about. It wouldn't be free.
in reply to Randahl Fink

working with the notorious white supremacist & pro-genocide/anti-masker Jeff Landry, he is not sending a "hospital boat" to any f'n body, that's a smokescreen for something else

we are literally talking about the same Jeff Landry who, when it was revealed early in the pandemic around June 2020 that POC were dying at 3x the rate of white people, he sued the state of Louisiana to end the mask mandate

whatever he's sending, it will NOT be healthy for indigenous populations

Except there isn't one available. Yeah, maybe the issue was Denmark evacuated the sub with their helicopter, but the American submariner was actally taken to the Greenland hospital, not to Denmark. All two hospital ships the US has are being fixed right now. washingtonpost.com/politics/20…
