!Friendica Support I had a look at the number of posts that arrive at my servers that are transported via DFRN our legacy protocol. It is not used anymore and there are no servers out there anymore that can't speak AP or the Diaspora protocol. So I really think that we should remove that protocol stack now.

Are there any objections? The benefit would be that there is less code to refactor in our regular refactor cycles.

keine zentralisiert Lösung zuhaben bei malware, Spam etc ist nicht gut - andernfalls kann beim ersten lesen der Gedanke, wenn nun gegebenenfalls viele US Dienste ausfallen oder einfach nicht mehr benutzt werden, dann mit dem Protokoll zumindest eine DE/EU Alternative zu haben, Kommunikation dennoch in kleinen auch für sich existierenden Netzwerk Gruppe funktionieren kann - es schein ja schon die “Freundachaftsanfrage Funktion” zu sein. Um erlich zusein hab ich da wenig bis kein eigenen Wissen

No objections! In fact, it seems like a really great idea: simplifying and streamlining is always advisable.
But, I wonder, will the distribution of outgoing messages based on circles work even without DFRN? And didn't private messages between Friendica users also depend on DFRN? How will they work from now on?
So, what are the things we should give up when we don't have DFRN?
